Robin is one of the few guys on the station that actually had knowledge on all sports. Shame really

I liked Lundberg as well. You can't expect them to fire Screamin' A, or MK though, unless their ratings dipped like crazy. I actually like the Michael Kay show though, Rothenberg included.

Can't stand Screamin' A though, he's black Mike Francesa.

On one hand, ESPN should've never gotten as bloated as it had become, so I'm not surprised at all that they laid off people. At the same time, the way that they did it and how they just royally screwed people just shows how cut throat and reprehensible corporations can be.

There was no way they were going to get rid of SAS. He is Mr. Hottake; he brings in ratings and cash. It's weird that people are taking their anger out on those who remain at ESPN as if they had any control over the situation. The fault doesn't lie with SAS or others; it lies with heads of ESPN/Disney/ABC. People should be taking them to task.

Not that I'm personally fond of Jay Crawford, Ed Werder or Jayson Stark but how in the world do you just layoff off these longtime ESPN stalwarts with no notice and not even a celebration of their time at ESPN. It's disgusting.

What makes it worse is that it appears this was done at this point in time because there were rumors that it was coming. So in order to keep the details under wraps, they just expedited the process and dropped the hammer all at once. SMH.

This thing called life is crazy bro. I have to constantly remember to take one day at a time and appreciate when things are "normal".

Anyone want to play a quick build a team game to get people's minds off of bad stuff in the world? I don't have anything in mind that's too in-depth, just for Nets fans, but still fun.

I wouldn't mind. That would be pretty cool.

Were you a part of NetForce's BAT? That was dope.

Lundberg actually knew basketball, which is far cry from a lot of ESPN NY radio personalities spew on a daily basis, Alan Hahn does pretty decent with basketball too. But re: Lundberg, I thought his firing was crap. Why does Mike Golic Jr have a job?

I like Michael Kay, his show is hilarious and doesn't take itself serious at all. Sometimes that's needed. Michael Kay knows more baseball than anyone else on that station though so sometimes its good to actually hear an informed take on the sport instead of daily hot topic spewage. He actually backs up what he says with fact (re: baseball).

Rothenberg...eh. I like his psycho Giants fan act, but I don't think the guy is that great when it comes to breaking down stuff in sports. Especially basketball, I think the guy wings it and just rages at everything

And so about the Adam Jones incident at Fenway Park....

Celtic fans balked at my harsh words for Bostonian sports fans a few months back about the racism of those folks. Bet they have nothing to say about this...an isolated incident I bet :nonono:

All I can say is that I went to Celtics vs. Nets preseason game last year in full Nets regalia (i.e. jersey, hat, jacket), sat about 8 rows from the court and didn't hear anything. I got a couple of lighthearted "You're brave" comments on the way in and bantered back. The Nets lost by a ton that day and I still didn't hear anything on the way out.

I'm glad you weren't met with any ignorance from them. But this is not an isolated incident:

Read on Twitter

http://deadspin.com/a-scene-from-fenway-park-992990569

I'm not saying you Nyce, but it's tiring seeing people defend Boston sports fans or use the "not all Boston fans" rhetoric when something like this happens and telling black players/people to get over this kind of crap when it is a reoccurring issue and these dirtbags are unapologetic about it. The same stuff being said to quell the outrage over what happened to Adam Jones is the same **** that was being said to try and throw water on what happened with P.K. Subban.

Boston sports fans are a fanbase full of racist pricks. there's really no way to sugarcoat it or spin that as anything but fact. When Bill Russell calls your city a "flea market of racism", there's no way around that and that was back in the 60s and nothing has changed. And these are supposed to be the educated liberals of the northeast, oh they fit right in with the hillbillies in the flyover states

They (Boston fans) need to own it, condemn it, and shame it. they don't like being generalized but they aren't very vocal or outspoken when one of their peers goes into a tirade calling some black athlete a n_gger now are they?

Can I start a thread, see who signs up to see if it's feasible? My plan won't take 30 people to play, but I figure we'd need at least 8, hopefully 16.
