Why does Aaron Judge think he's Wayne Gretzky?

Judge should be slugging at least .800 with his height.

How so? The Yankees and Orioles are currently 3rd and 4th in the league by record, and Boston's rather good at baseball themselves. Not at all unthinkable that the division could have three teams win 90+ and make the playoffs.

This ump receive a call from MLB between innings? Some pretty iffy strike calls there.

Tapera has a great arm but he just can't hit his spots reliably. Bit of a stretch there from Dan and Buck to suggest he could replace Biagini's role in the future. He has a ways to go, if he will ever get there.

Credit to Gibby: he has been bringing in Biagini, who is our de facto setup guy these days, for every high-leverage situation he can, no matter the inning. He has the second-highest game leverage of any pitcher in baseball with 10+ IP.

What is the highest possible leverage you can have in a ball game? Fangraphs shows Biagini's appearance as 4.35 for pLI for getting a single out.

2.0 or more is considered high leverage, so 4.35 is very high. I honestly don't know where it maxes...the highest-leverage moment in baseball history was apparently an 8.27 (that was 1-0 with two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the 9th of the 1962 World Series, with Willie McCovey hitting):

Thanks and now after a few more batters, Biagini's leverage went down to 1.95 for this game. Those empty bases starting the inning screwed him over but it makes sense later in ball games and close score, important ball game.

Biagini is sooo good. My favorite Blue Jay by far.

Funny guy too!

Apparantely having Biagini throw 500 pitches on top of constantly having to bail the bullpen out isn't a good combination. Why he is throwing 40+ pitches in a relief appearance is beyond me.

WTF was that Biagini? Why would you even look anywhere other than first base.

And a lost challenge, of course. **** Toronto

Their are a number of reasons. First hes really good, also Stroman left the game early and we have to make up for it elsewhere. Also, 3 of these hits were complete bs and we probably jinxed him.

For those who think the AL East is weak, consider that Gary Sanchez has only played in five games before being sidelined, and is finishing up a rehab at Syracuse tomorrow. The Yankees surely have a shot, and they still have a couple of good farmhands - including SS Gleyber Torres, a top 10 prospect in all of baseball - they could deal off for another starting pitcher.
