Honestly, I'm already over being upset about this pick. Still would have much rather stayed at 3 and taken Adams and moved back in the first to get Watson, but we'll see what happens. Not that I'm excited or anything.

We'll see if Pace trades down in the 2nd to add mire picks. Hopefully he does, because he's done a good job of finding guys in that 3rd-5th round.

Love it! Bears get qb of the future with all the tools. 1 more rebuilding season and it is on.

The more I read about him, the more I hope they do sit him for a year and develop him.

Here is what Mel Kiper had to say...

"If you're going to draft Trubisky, you have to feel like this," Kiper said. "If he had gone back (to school) he would have been the No. 1 pick (next season) lock, stock and barrell. We know that. We know he's not ready, we wish he had another year but we have to develop this kid. We don't have to let him sit for three or four years like Aaron Rodgers, but we gotta develop him - redshirt him - not force him in there. If you handle Trubisky well, you may have something. If you expect him to be Dak Prescott and go out there and play well as a rookie, forget about it. It isn't happening."

But Red, thats part of the problem trading up esp in the top 3. You commit so much of an investment that if Glennon doesn't come out making an impact the clamoring for MT to play will start. You already have people referring to MT as the back up to Glennon when actually that player is Sánchez. If anything is certain MT needs time so under no circumstances should he be played this season. Not even if all 3 QBs get hurt.

Play well, establish yourself as a starter in the NFL and earn $19m.

I'd have more of a problem if the franchise went all in on Glennon as the QB of the future with nothing else.

That was his expectation. I'm sure he thought he had a chance to be the franchise QB.

I thought USC and UCLA had some studs coming out too. Not to mention Wyoming. I don't know if Trubisky would be #1 overall, but there would be a lot less whining about trading up for him

I wish I knew how a backup QB thinks by signing a contract the team won't keep covering all the bases at the most important position. Like, did they tell him they weren't signing or drafting any more QBs? His attitude kind of sucks right now. How about talking about team goals like winning and competing at all positions instead of this weak garbage Mike. #Notleadership

Media stirring up stuff. The source by Rich Campbell didn't have a single quote by Glennon. Pace said he did talk to Glennon about drafting a QB.

Bottom line if Glennon plays out of his mind he doesn't have to worry about being supplanted :D

He's a strong armed guy pretty accurate, reads the field well, and processes quickly so he's not walk in the park compeition for Mitch. If Mitch is the real deal Glennon is a pretty good test to overcome in training camp.

I dont think its that simple Fleet .

Glennon knew they were gonna draft a QB but by trading those picks to move up to the 2nd and taking him #2 overall that changes the expectations no matter how much anyone tries to say otherwise . For him to have the bet season he can hes gonna need every single last one of the practice reps but because of Mitchs severe lack of experience they have to get him some reps . Remember hes been through this before with Winston so hes knows the writing is on the wall and Im sure Glennon doesnt mind 18 million and a year to audition for other teams but the Bears have created a situation where someone gonna get shortchanged .

Dont forget they also invited him to the draft party thats gotta be awkward

I would also like to add I remember Kyle Orton talking about what was the worst thing about being here with Grossman . He said it was the fact that he was not even allowed to compete for the the job and therefore he was given little to no reps and without the reps its incredibly hard to get better. Glennon knows the difference and whats coming I doubt he felt cheated but he knows its no way this ends well lol

Heading into OTAs

Shaw is the only one who knows the offense and has played in it
Sanchez is the only one with any significant playing experience
Trubinsky is the most important and who needs reps
Glennon is the one who has been promised the reps

the next 3 months are gonna be a wild ride
Got a Gold Name Plate that says "I wish you would"

He seems to learn fast although he struggled with that "predator" scheme. He still needs to be brought along slowly by all accounts.

If he turns into Derek Carr type, Pace hit a home run.

Biggest thing for Pace will be before Trubisky starts is to get him a solid oline.
