I broke my streak of not betting UFC and had to go with Edgar at the last minute. I just had a feeling that was going to happen. I've seen nobodies stay on top of Yair for half the fight. Edgar is pretty good. :)

The second knee, Poirer had both hands down and a knee down as well. 100% grounded fighter, new rule or old rule. That knee was 100% illegal

Poirier's knee wasn't down on the 2nd blow, just the 2 hands. Yes, it's all very confusing, through the final strike. If he threw two with the knee down, well then you'd have a stronger point.

Even Poirier didn't have much of a problem with it. If I had to question one of the two trying to get bailed out, it was Poirier, because he had more motive, and it's always funny how the technically illegal knee does so much damage to almost every fighter it lands on. I mean they're illegal for a reason, but the discrepancy is so large, and even through the rule changes this phenomenon continues. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt too.

Who do you think won: Gamebred or the sticky grappler? That had to be Sophie's Choice for you.

I agree with you that I'd have rather been Masvidal during the fight, but if the scoring criteria for an mma match is effective striking/grappling (and those two are equal), then I don't see how Maia didn't win rds1 and 3 tbh. Plus, and I am open to being wrong here if there is video evidence to the contrary, I don't think Maia was as hurt at the end of the first as Rogan's scream would have led us to believe otherwise.

It was if you watch the replay.

For the record, this is the standard for class in losing a fight:

Not a whisp of passive-aggressiveness or round-about whining. We should all wish to be this great of a man.

Don't let me ever hear about **** Dominick Cruz again.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.
