I don't get why people have a hard-on for this trade, I wouldn't do it if I were the Pacers. Those 4 picks aren't that good. The Cleveland pick is virtually a 2nd round pick, the Wolves pick is lottery protected, and the 2 Atlanta picks will most likely not be in the lottery. Quantity does not come close to quality, especially in a rebuild.

Maybe because Pacers might lose PG13 without any compensation at all?

I think that should avoid FA players or trade targets that can be next K-Mart, Chase Budinger or Pekovic.

1) Favors, Matthews, Tyreke Evans are injury prone. Imagine how quick they get injured again with Thibs intensity
2) We have solid bigman in Dieng, nothing flashy, but a good player under good contract. We have solid PG in Rubio, fresh after best season, again under good contract. I dont see any real trade that upgrade our roster, unless we get true star in return,

Just like the Wolves lost Kevin Love without any compensation?
They'll get a better offer than that.

Also, why would Jimmy Butler making an all-nba make him out of reach?

Pretty good but i don't think Philly sees Lavine > Saric.

I would do that trade.

I would also swap Wiggins for LaVine and get additional assets from Philly. Covington seems like a Thibs guy.

I agree. The ATL picks were likely in the 20's, even without Paul George. I think the other two are ours and CLE's. The chance of snagging a star with those four chances is probably lower than their chance of keeping George.

Now that George has only one season guaranteed, and can help in only one playoff, I think his value is a lot less.

One of our Miami guys stated several days ago that Wiggins was on the short list of targets this summer. This caught me by surprise a bit. With that said, if you guys traded him to Miami, what type of package would you be looking at?

I'm sorry, there's not 1 prospect on the Heat roster I would trade Wiggins for

Maybe they meant Nick Wiggins? Or Candace Wiggins?

Well to the Miami guy who said that, I say: good luck with that. He's not a free agent and he's not getting traded.

Weird that a Miami guy would specifically mention Wiggins as an off season target.

Maybe Riley sees some young Kobe in Wiggins.

Rubio + Wiggins

Dragic+Winslow+fillers

Highly unlikely, but that would probably be the starting point.

Only way I even consider moving Wiggins is if Whiteside is involved.

I wouldn't. Towns needs to spend a majority of his time at center.

Highly unlikely?

HIGHLY UNLIKELY! That got worse every line I read. You wouldn't get Wiggins for the miami combo let alone us putting in Rubio as well.

Any deal around Wiggins and Miami is crazy to talk about but it beings and ends with Whiteside and thats it. Picks to balance it out, we aint adding anything to Wiggins if he is being dealt to Miami. They dont have that type of currency.

I'm with you on this.

Now, if WCS could play big minutes at PF then maybe he makes sense. But as a C? We've got far bigger holes to fix than Towns' backup.

Nope, wouldn't consider that either.

I think this is one of the worst arguments/assessments I've seen this offseason. (Going with the O.P.) Yes KAT is a future 1st team all NBA @ C but he could also be a future 1st team all NBA at PF just as easily as he could C. That is one of KAT's greatest strengths and you're trying to box him into a set position.

WCS skillset would mesh well with KAT and they already have chemistry together during their time together at Kentucky.

I don't think there is a big difference between #3 through #8-9, so I wouldn't give up Dunn to move up to #3. Maybe Tyus.
