Even if you can argue if the Spurs would have better (seems less likely you can make this case now with the absence of Parker and Duncan), Durant has a much better supporting cast than he did with OKC.

Spurs win Game 1 with Kawhi

They probably win tonight with him as Durant shoots significantly worse with Kawhi guarding him and Kawhi's offense opens up the floor for everyone else.

The Warriors still win the series but it'd be a 7 game series

I agree it may have been a closer series, Spurs may have hung on to win game 1. But I feel like the Warriors were rusty more than anything to begin the series. Again, the Spurs blew out the Thunder by 30 in game 1 last year and that series went 6, although that series could have easily gone 7. I suppose the Spurs can run it back next year and hope Leonard is healthy.

The Celtics are actually playing pretty well tonight without Isaiah, but they're getting routed by the Cavs again. The Cavs are up 16 after hitting 14-22 3-pointers in the first half alone. It's just not fair.

For comparison, the Wizards made 14 or more 3 pointers in just 6 games this season and only eclipsed 15 3-pointers once. The Cavs hit 14 in just one half.

Advanced stats check out. Celtics do not get worse when Isaiah Thomas sits.

One of two things will happen: IT4 gets traded or Smart gets traded. Ainge has no loyalty to players so everyone is up for grabs.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

There's a fine line between having "no loyalty" and recognizing that there are times when one should "sell high". I think Ainge will get it right. I don't think very many Celtics fans are all that upset that Ainge showed "no loyalty" in dumping Pierce and Garnett just as their respective careers collapsed. He got 4 lotto picks out of that particular demonstration of no loyalty.

It was the right move, they won a ring, move on.

He's trying to recreate that and it just seems like he's playing the GM mode in NBA2K. I get what the long term vision is, but it doesn't seem like he's going to pull it off because everyone knows what he's trying to do. There's no Billy King to fleece.

If Gordon Haywood resigns in Utah, then I don't see a FA that is realistic for them. Thomas & Bradley expire in a year (along with Smart being due an extension). Olynyk is due an extension this year. One of their guards is gone this off-season with Fultz in.

Maybe it stung them at the time, but for whatever reason, Pierce and Garnett don't seem to have nearly as hard feelings toward the Celtics as they do toward Ray Allen. Maybe they resent him for moving on by his own design.

The loyalty expectation between players and teams is generally tilted in the team's favor. When a player leaves, whether unwillingly by trade or willingly by free agency, his former teammates and the fans are still stuck with the team he left.

When a good GM makes a trade, that presumably has a good chance of making the team better, whereas when a FA that the team wanted to re-sign goes to another team, that presumably has a good chance of making the team worse. Crediting the team for the former and blaming the player for the latter seems the natural course.

We saw that first hand...so we didn't need the stats. They rested IT and then brought him back to to close out games offensively. Which is something that proved they had better coaching that we did (sorry brooks). Brad is essentially making the best of his roster and using his star for exactly what he is limited to do....score when its scoring time. But Brad can make it work with the guys on the floor too apparently...

Man, the Warriors didn't even shoot well and they still destroyed the Cavs.

The entire Warriors team had a total of 4 turnovers. The Cavs had 20. Lebron alone had 8. It's impossible to beat the Warriors if you give them 16 more FGA's that you get.
