The funniest part of this is posts like this one. How anyone could not understand the hate for Hammond is beyond me. Disagree with it? Sure. Fine. But not be able to understand it? Come on.

Edit: Also, I can be very grateful that he drafted Giannis and still think he's an idiot.

Really... Someone not understanding your hate is funny to you... That's a shame.

Now my mind is spinning. Has anyone ever put as many GOAT and WOAT moves on the same resume as Hammond? Drafting Giannis, stealing Middleton, Brogdon, trading down for Tobias, trading for Salmons, (Thon?)... then you have Joe Alexander, signing Salmons, trading for Reddick, etc.

In some weird way you have to wonder how much different it would be if Sanders had matured in the past four years with Giannis. That was another pick that was close to turning out great.

I'm personally less comfortable since I was really warming up to picking Diallo at 17 and trying to hit another home run with him and I'm not sure we take that type of approach now with Hammond gone 30 days before the draft....

Thoughts?

Possibly less comfortable in the short term because drafting was his clear strength. Overall I'm worried it doesn't change anything until schemes or the coaching staff change.

Hammond may have made another great draft pick this season.

But he also could have seriously overpaid Snell to the Kent Bazemore degree after botching restricted free agency negotiations...and then find himself limited to fill out the roster beyond overpaying the likes of Beasley.

Great take Dan Shafer, fabulous. Hammond gets gifted a job from a colleague/friend whom he'll be taking orders from, a definite results oriented hire! There are a few people on this forum who have equally stupid takes as Dan, wouldn't be surprised if he's actually one of them.

I repeat over and over here, but NBA GMs have jobs for life. It doesn't matter how terrible your trades are or how poor your results are, it seems once you've worked the phones and made a trade or two you will have a new gig waiting. Hammond was here for 9 years, almost all of which was a mess, and he now has another 5 years. Good for him. He's living the dream.

His famous quote about getting into his car and wondering if he made a good move or bad move doesn't have the proper conclusion to it. After that brief period of pondering, he laughs at the lack of accountability in this profession and laughs at how much money he's made. That's how that story really goes.

From Joe Alexander to Gary Payton II, his transaction log reads like a 9 year nightmare interrupted by a couple momentary potty breaks of sanity.

My only regret is he didn't trade for Caron Butler's corpse....again.

Say what you want about Hammond, but I can't be the only one who is incredible nervous to see what the FO response will be. Promotion for Kidd? Zanik? Schwartz???

Not comfortable at all...

Trading the pick for a Redick/Vasquez type player is now a lot more likely than is was this time yesterday.

I started drinking because of John Hammond. I've been sober for a few hours now.

Good at drafting, not so good at everything else.

In a top 3 ranking of all-time Bucks' general managers, who goes where?

Wait, whut?!?

So, 100% certainty deal happens while Hammond Bucks GM. Now, said type of deal more likely because he's gone?!?

Fake news.

Sure. I don't think this ownership group has any idea how to run a successful professional sport franchise so I have little faith that they'll make a good move here.

However, after a decade of not winning a thing under Hammond, I'm not fretting at what we lost. Ernie Grunfeld is laughing at his futility.

That's my thing. You've gleaned that from your extensive investigation into what it is that makes me me. Gotcha.
