Why would Diallo agree to this?
It's essentially like playing in college for a year. He would have same risk of injury with no financial backing, yet additionally we would give him a contract for where he was selected at this year.
If he stayed in college for a year, he'd be selected much higher spot and get a more lucrative contract.
You can guarantee your position. The reason Diallo wants to go to a lotto team would be so he has a clear path to playing time. That's why he said he won't workout for teams after #20, but worked out with the nets. We can give him playing time. If he really cares about his development, he would take the deal. Then, he can make money next year (at a smaller scale, open himself up for more marketing opportunities because He's homegrown, (Kilpatrick has a shoe deal LOL) and still secure that lotto money next year (the nets arent restricted in how much his rookie contract would be worth). All while being apart of our DLeague team which means he can practice with the main roster. Why wouldn't he take that deal?
