But I can't see Indy spending that much on Myles' back up just to get a backup to Thad.. I'd be looking for a guy that can split the backup forward minutes if I were taking Ian's excess for Delly/Henson.
I thought Chicago had Jerami Grant and got excited by the deals.. But they don't have that one.
But if you and Utah work your deal, JSmith+2021 2nd for Delly swap? Tying it in with your deal bigger deal would hide the salary gap between the two?
I'm leaning more towards the CHI deal with or without INDY involved so probably can't do Smith for Delly straight up.. though I can add McCollough to make the salaries work if that floats your boat.
Also if you like Collins or Morris better than Portis, you can swap either of those. Just thought you'd prefer Portis.
If you're out completely that's fine too, CHI has enough there to get a deal done though I woulda loved to add Delly in the process.
I think I'm out of the Ian deal because If I'm adding Ian, I'm going to plan to play big and switch Myles to my starting center / backup PF and want the value for the Ian deal to be a guy who can get minutes behind Paul George and the leftover minutes at the 4. That's not available here..
Portis or Morris are great fits on the team I have now, but not if I'm adding 5-7 mil a year in Ian.
Jay, what else would you need? Maybe I can take a bit more salary?

I'm pretty sure I would have preferred a colonoscopy to the down time during this draft.

If I had a 16-17 million dollar backup center, I wouldn't want the value coming in to be at PF. Not so much the salary, just the position that the salary plays (as well as the lack of talent obviously). I want a Jerami Grant, Aminu, Ariza, type 3/4.
But honestly, I'm not offering much value to the base of your deal anyways.
But I would do Ian and Marcus Morris for Henson and Delly?
I don't think that works on your side though.

I see where you are coming from. On my side after rerunning the numbers, it will come down to our ability to unload Mahinmi including an asset. I need cap space next season to give Butler a raise. Even Henson's salary would make things challenging in 2018.

Is Marcus Morris available as that asset?
Morris, Ian for Henson, Delly? I'd add in a J. Mickey if you want some cheap Dleague labor. I like MM and I forgot you had him. He's exactly what I would target/described lol.
That would be the deal I do with Wash/Chi.
If that's too much value coming Indy's way, I completely understand but Marcus is the only player that really fits what I need (that is remotely available in this trash for lesser trash deal)

There wasn't one since we started after the draft and just did a mock free agency.

Yep, last year's was organized and finished on such short notice that there wasn't enough time. I think it's safe to say I overcompensated a bit this year and it resulted in too much time.

Gotcha. I would say that the draft was really fun in the beginning, but there definitely should be time limits and time zones stated.
I apologize for when I had to pick at 10. That took at a while because I was getting trade offers. That was my fault for sure.

Morris is going to Washington in the draft offer, to be reunited with his brother. It will be up to Washington to decide whether he could be rerouted to Indiana along with Mahinmi, with Delly going to Washington and Henson going to Chicago. Or Henson could also go to Washington, but I'm not sure about whether it would work in the trade machine - it could be a separate trade.
As I said, Henson could make it complicated for me to free up space for Butler's raise next season. I'll review the number and get back to you. In the meantime, I'm including Washington in a proposed deal.

Proposed trade pending everyone's review (including trade machine):
To WAS:
Wade, Delly, Portis, Collins, 2018 swap, 2019 unprotected
To IND:
Mahinmi, Marcus Morris
To CHI:
Beal, Henson
Potential add-ons:
Henson going to WAS
Jordan Mickey to CHI or WAS
Baldwin to CHI or WAS in exchange for a 2nd
Replacing Portis or Collins (both PFs) with Valentine or Zipser - just throwing that out there if Nas wants to balance the trade

I agree time limits and time zones would help to speed up the process. It would also add a realistic feel to the draft when you are fielding multiple offers but are still under a time crunch to make a decision. Personally I would enjoy this aspect but others may not.

Yeah I'd do that. I'd add Baldwin in Mickey's place but I'd want a 2nd. Yes, that's stupid I know.

Beal, Henson
Potential addons
Yeah I'd do that. I'd add Baldwin in Mickey's place but I'd want a 2nd. Yes, that's stupid I know.
I've updated the add-on list.
I like Baldwin but I have 25 point guards on the roster but no future second rounder left

I agree time limits and time zones would help to speed up the process. It would also add a realistic feel to the draft when you are fielding multiple offers but are still under a time crunch to make a decision. Personally I would enjoy this aspect but others may not.
I would love it. It should be done on a weekend where most people will have the most time. Sportscrazy had the right idea with this one, it just lasted a lot longer than expected.

Yeah, it's only the second year of this so it's still a work in progress. I'm thinking next year of doing a hybrid of my mock off-season (where I do the off-season from draft night to opening night for all 30 teams) and this project where I assemble a team of 10 people to do the mock off-season with me of the most qualified and most interested members from this project and we work together to come up with a mock off-season for all 30 teams.
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Jay, did you have a lot to drink last night my friend?

Yea, I'm fine with letting Marcus go to IND instead of Portis.
CHI, what's the salary looking like for Caanan? Can he be included as a throw-in if you don't mind?
Assuming salaries work I think I'm going to take the deal as constructed but would appreciate if you could include Caanan since he's deadweight on your bench anyhow and I could use him in a 2-guard lineup for the shooting.
