We will do something this offseason that we haven't done in 30 years.

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Mon May 29, 2017 1:19 am

In 2008 we draft Gallo, the following year we draft Hill. While he was only with us for a handful of games, it was the last time this team had two lottery picks on the team that we drafted. Before that you would have to go all the way back until the 86-87 season when we had Patrick Ewing and Kenny Walker. That's only two times in the past thirty years in which we've had two lottery picks together on the same team. Taking a quick look around the current teams in the NBA this year, you can see how continuation is paramount.

In the Eastern Conference:
Boston: Brown, Smart, Olynyk.
Cavs: Thompson, Irving.
Raptors: Valanciunas, DeRozan, Poeltl.
Wizards: Wall, Beal, Porter.
Bucks: Maker, Parker, Henson.
Pistons: Drummond, KCP, Johnson.
Hornets: MKG, Walker, Zeller, Kaminsky.
Magic: Gordon, Payton, Hezonja.
76ers: Okafor, Embiid, Simmons, Saric.
Pacers: George and Turner.

In the Western Conference:
Suns: Chriss, Bender, Booker, Warren, Len.
Warriors: Curry and Klay.
Jazz: Hayward, Lyles, Exum, Burks.
Thunder: Westbrook, Adams, Sabonis, Collison.
Blazers: Lillard and McCollum.
Nuggets: Murray and Mudiay.
Kings: McLemore, WCS, Papagiannis.
Wolves: Towns, Wiggins, Rubio, Lavine, Dunn and Muhammad.
Lakers: Randle, Ingram, Russell.

Teams with less than two:
Hawks, Bulls, Heat, Nets, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers, Grizz, Pelicans, Mavs,

Now this isn't a pro Phil thread by any means, it's just pretty amazing he will actually accomplish something that we haven't been able to do in ages. While we've had multiple drafts in which we had multiple first round picks, maybe just maybe we can have a little foundation forming?
Jazz:
Allen l Wagner
Randle l Olynyk
Porter Jr l Marshall l Tucker
Herro l Okogie l Payton
Fox l Jones

hopefully first round picks will never be traded ever again. giving TWO first rounders to get rid of jared jeffries was terrible and idiotic. first rounder for bargnani was terrible as well. As bad as isiah was, walsh and grunwald were just as bad. ( grunwald giving away so many second rounders for a washed camby.

Praying this pick isn't another Kenny Walker

We def missed on some solid players. Also, we were actually one pick away from our current current coach in the 2nd round. Jeff would of been great to have next to Ewing.

Hate that we didn't have the foresight to get him guards to grow with. Let's not repeat history.

shouldn't the topic be named 'We could do something this offseason that we have only done twice in the past 30 years'?

It's actually a really pathetic statistic.

The Knicks have proven that they have no idea how to build a team if they've been in the lottery all these years and never had any of their lotto picks play together.

What's wild is they were barely in the lotto ANY of those years.

Hill
Gallo
Frye
Sweetney

Are the only lotto picks that suited up for good ol' NYK in the 2000s prior to KP. All the rest were traded or swapped.
BAF Clippers
PG: CP3 | SGA
SG: SGA | Big Ragu
SF: J Brown | Dorture Chamber
PF: Gordon | Niang
C: Capela | Sharpe

Deep Bench - Forrest | Oladipo | Fernando | Young | Svi | Cody Martin

Hill barely had a cup of coffee here. Frye was here for what....two years. Gallo...not long either. This is truly disgusting. It's also why this team is a perennial loser.

Hill was only here for 24 games, I personally don't even count that.

That's what this team needs. Right now, Philadelphia is light years ahead of the rebuilding process than the Knicks are, even slated to include Josh Jackson. They are where many NBA teams wishes they were at.

Sucking will bring us to the promised land.

:D just some nitpicking, but I read your op and first thing you said, how it would be the 3th time.
