These guys haven't turned in their rankings yet. Unless anyone objects, I feel like we can move on. The whole point of the rankings was to develop seeding, which is already done with the 11 lists I have so far.

Sorry man, as much as I have been posting I have no idea how to rank these teams. It is ironic because I believe I was the first to recommend this idea, yet here I am unable to actually do such thing

I have the NBA Finals tonight and then I will be hosting a staff meeting tomorrow, so my write up will not be up until Friday night at the earliest, likely Saturday Morning.

Yeah that's fine, we're still figuring out judging. There are pros and cons to doing it in-house versus inviting other posters to judge. I've tagged a bunch of people.

Please give your input on this. Everyone else too.

The first to six rule is quick, but I don't know if it's the "truest" representation of the vote. An option could be to open it to the whole board, but weigh the panel vote equally (so, 50/50).

Honestly my ideal scenario is having a panel of judges who are good posters, and then let eliminated contestants join the panel.

Thanks for the invite to help judge. I'm flattered. As I mentioned up thread, about 5 minutes into you guys' draft I wished I'd signed up for it. In that vein, I'd be happy to help out as I can. I've been hesitant to commit to anything because my basketball writing schedule was ABSURD during the season, but with the end of the DFS schedule there's a reasonable chance I may be able to be around more often.

All that said...how would the judging work? If it's the Game thread idea, where each thread is one team against another, I think that would be best and would allow for potential judges to weigh in the easiest. We wouldn't, then, have to try to absorb the entirety of all of the teams to contribute, but could instead look at specific match-ups. I think this would also help out vs the seeding question a few posts up, as it's not at all unreasonable to assume that one team might be stronger in a vacuum but vulnerable to a slightly weaker opponent due to match-ups.

In short...ping me when the game thread(s) are ready, and I'll do my best to contribute.

A panel would be ideal, but we need to ensure momentum doesn't slip. If this takes more than a month to judge, people will likely lose interest (I don't think we finished last year). After the Finals people will be on holiday etc.

For me, get 5 or 6 good impartial posters as a panel, 5 days for judging each matchup and an open poll on the thread; poll vote is tie-breaker if the judges are split evenly, otherwise majority rules (if only one judge votes, encourage the others; losing 2-1 will hurt but not as bad as losing 1-0 particularly if you win the poll). You join the panel if you lose.
