You are not factoring in age at all or really factoring in anything.

I'm factoring in age. Chris Paul will be more productive over the next four years than Gordan Hayward despite being older. I'm also not assuming we can just get Gordon Hayward, which is not a given.

I mean honestly would you rather have KG 32-36 or let's say Richard Jefferson 28-32.

But you're assuming we could get Chris Paul, when getting Hayward is infinitely more likely. I'd give us a 25% shot at Hayward, which is 25% more likely than Paul.

So that means we can't engage in a hypothetical scenario where Chris Paul is available and not Gordon Hayward? I have seen a lot more egregious ideas on this site than that.

For Chris Paul - yes. He is a different level of player who has never relied on his athleticism. I have the absolute opposite feeling about Thomas.

There's some truth there, but IMO, Chris Paul is a short-term kill shot, not a long-term building block.

Pass that **** if you have it...I'm just exploring options. Chris Paul being part of a championship is more realistic than Gordon Hayward bringing a championship.

Why? They've both gone the same distance in the playoffs, Hayward just beat Paul.

Because Paul is a sublimely good PG even a little past his prime and Hayward is a moderate improvement on Jae Crowder.

And Jimmy Butler isn't if that's your logic?

Jimmy Butler can play SG and replace a soon to be overpriced Avery Bradley. Jae Crowder allows us to afford everyone else do to his long-term, low priced contract.

If you're just looking at stats, then it's easy and lazy to say Hayward is a moderate upgrade over Crowder on this team. Adding Hayward also adds another player who can effectively create their shot in one-on-one situations. That changes the whole dynamic in a very positive way with Boston. Crowder isn't much of a shot creator. HOW each player creates their stats is more important than the stat itself.
