Once mercgold3 makes the first pick, we will officially start the clock and begin the 2017 RealGM soccer board draft. Thank you all for participating. Here are a few rules that will hopefully make the draft process experience more enjoyable for everyone

1) Once the clock starts following the first pick, each participant will be granted 12 hours to make their selection, before they will be skipped. They can then make their selection upon their return.

2) This draft has a tendency to cycle through picks very quickly, so even if there are a high number of picks left before your next selection, you may be surprised about how soon you may be on the clock again. Likewise, there are also other times where it will feel like the draft is taking forever.

3) If you know you will be out of town or unavailable for a prolonged period of time, please PM your selections to someone else to pick on your behalf, or to either Baphomet or myself (if we have a pick coming up before you do, we will let you know if we are already planning to take the person you have mentioned).

4) No trades are allowed, so draft wisely.

5) Outside of the obvious top two picks, please refrain from mentioning any players who have not been drafted.

It´s nice to go first, but at same time is a big gap for the next pick...

Wow! Ballsy pick by MoS with Modric at 3.

Amazing player, but surprised to see him go so high. Then again, if you really wanted him, makes sense to take him while you still can, because I don't think he was going to drop outside of the first round. Good stuff.

Really like the Luka Modric pick, i think people underrate how important he is, he makes that real madrid team tick. great choice to build a team around, he can work hard defensively and does bring the other attacking players in the game so easily.

FWIW, Modric would've been my pick at 8.
Handsome.

Probably would have been my pick at 11 if he made it down there also.

Sorry about the slight hold-up, was sleeping and then working, didn't have time to check in the morning.

I was weighing up either Isco, Kroos or a striker with my pick. Opted for Isco as I believe he's the best creative AM in the world right now coming off the best season of his career, and has the versatility to play out wide if needed.

Lots of Real love so far. Not surprising.

Kroos was never going to drop into the 2nd round after Modric was picked up that high. Interesting draft early on.

Was hoping I'd be able to pair Kroos and Modric but it was a long shot haha

Just to put it out there, in case anyone is drafting Madrid players because half the managers are Real Madrid fans, we are using 3 non-participant judges this year instead of a manager vote.

This might be the slowest of any of the drafts we have done...

Yes. After 12 hours have elapsed since the previous pick, the next person is able to make their pick.

Additionally, letting the next person know they are on the clock after you have picked might help with speeding up the picks.
