Now everyone wants Frank. Its amazing what a couple rubbish articles from the Daily news and Post do to the opinions of Realgm.

Give me DSJ any day of the week.

some people are even comparing Frank to Shump

Read on Twitter

Shump isn't doing this move, especially not at 18. Matter of fact, Shump gets no PT on Frank's squad when he's 18.

Shumpert was a hyped high school player, of course he would have made that French squad imo. Scout.com and Rivals.com both had him in the top 10-15 if I remember correctly.

He wasn't a top 15 player and considering his major inconsistency on BOTH sides of the ball in college, chances are that he would NOT be playing the same amount of minutes that Frank is. Keep in mind Frank would be a college freshman THIS UPCOMING YEAR. So, the chances that Shump would be getting Frank's minutes as a HS senior are slim to none.

Why I could be worried ? it's no me who cry if smith is draft before us :P But for frank I think only knicks and dallas are really hot to land him, others are intrigued but with no WO ( because of french finales with his team) i'm not sure they will take him with pick 5 or 6. Probably another story with WO but maybe he's lucky if he's landed by dallas or us.

you're pretty much guaranteeing smith will be gone by #8

if he is, come on over monk

you know you will be very sad if smith was our pick

NYKnicksTAPE wrote:People are focused too much on just offense and forget that they've been complaining about the Knicks being trash defensively for years.

All this talk about GS but as good as they are offensively, they are also filled with a bunch of smart 2-way players that are versatile and can defend multiple positions and do it well. In order to be a champion u have to be a high IQ team that plays well on BOTH ENDS. GS does, Cleveland doesn't. Cleveland made it this far without playing good defense because they have Lebron. Without him, a team led by Irving and Love would be just another average EC team.

KP and Frank is an excellent defensive base, and both of them are smart and unselfish on offense. People are acting like this draft is our last chance to get a scorer. Frank's offensive game can be developed, but he's already being put in a box as just a Shump or Bev...

Or it won't develop and he becomes a starting level role player. Which is the most likely scenario in your opinion?

I understand the argument for Frank. I understand the arguments for Monk Tatum Isaac Fox and I definitely agree with the arguments for DSJ.

We'll be lucky to land any one of these guys. But out of all of them, I think I'd prefer DSJ most. His upside is elite top 5-10 player for years. His defense is apathetic but he wouldn't be the first meh defender to learn how to harness his physical gifts and become a solid to good defender in the league.

It all comes down to the coaching and the game plan. Will we continue to have some moron who only has the job because he's friends with the FO ruining the initial years of his development?

Yet another shining example of the leadership in place.

Frank's handle can't improve? His decision making can't improve? His shot can't continue to get better? He can't get stronger and fill out more? The only question is how much will he develop and improve on these things.

I think he can become an elite level role player, the type of player that every championship team needs or wants. I think he could become a very valuable player in the NBA. He could be a unique 6'5 guard with a 7'1 wingspan that can do a little bit of scoring and play making while also being elite defensively (he could potentially be able to guard 1-3). George Hill put up 17, 4, and 3 this season while shooting 48% from the field, 40% from 3, and 80% from the line while being 6th at his position in DRPM. I think Frank can do something similar, and who knows, he could be even better than that. I think that Frank and KP would be a good defensive base. We'd be constructing a core consisting of high IQ, 2-way players.

I prefer DSJr too, but I don't think that he will be available at 8 which is why I don't spend much time or focus on him. I won't be one of those guys acting like we're doomed if we end up with Frank on draft night.

its like they are trying to label him as the defensive prospect of this draft like Marcus Smart and Justise Winslow. but ntilikina has way better skills than those guys.I feel like because he is from europe people think he has has a lower ceiling because euro lottery picks from the early 2000's to 2015 didn't have any all-stars. but Let's look at the best euro players recently in the last 5-6 years:

Schroeder
Porzingis
Giannis
Gobert
Saric
Nurkic
Jokic
WHG

I don't know if i should have put willy up there but I am pretty sure he is going to beast like Nurkic did in Portland last year. Right now Ntilikina is considered the best euro prospect in this draft. why cant his ceiling be just as high as those guys if he is already considered the best of this class?

Sorry i'm not cry like us :D  My preference is frank because I think is profile is perfect for us and the way we want to play and him think too ( http://www.basketusa.com/news/431416/frank-ntilikina-ce-serait-genial-de-jouer-pour-les-knicks/ I can translate his interviewfor people wants). But if we take smith I will be happy too, i'm just more reticent about monk. Sometimes I read here people want a potential star at 8 and don't want frank (because role player for them but they never watch him) but monk, but monk is compare (if comparisons are good) to JR or Lou and this guys are stars for us ?

Anyway, it's FO and Phil who choose, not me , you or other. So I will support the young player who becomes knicks players and just exciting to build a true young team. To build and be patient are maybe news words in knicks vocabulary !

1. he likes tall guards.
2. He said in his press conference the most pressing issue is perimeter def. Frank is potentially the best perimeter defender in this draft.

Like it or not the Knicks are drafting Frank. Don't hate it and Don't love it.

not convinced hes better than Mitchel

It's more hard to explain when people don't understand that french league is better than NCAA, he's number are bad etc... But they did'nt know euro basket and french league. Okay it's not spanish league but it's a good champsionship too for Young players (clearly other level than China for example) and all french players in NBA are trained in french league. They need development but all have fundamentals with that.

it all depends on how you look at them
frank can def turn into a star... but i don't know if it will happen. his offense blows. all he has is a jump shot with no handles. ew
he could either be the kawhi/giannis of point guards or easily the next dante exum. so who knows

i'm not willing to take the gamble on him if players like monk or smith are still available.
if the front office feels otherwise, then it is what it is. i'll root for frank if that's the case.

monk is kind of a gamble as well. he could be a lou williams player or bradley beal. but i feel more confident in him reaching his potential than frank.

If we dont draft a point what yall think about Shaun Livingston? Vet point who is also a winner. Thrives in the mid range. What would be his price tag though.

Hes Okay. Frank with worse defense, less shooting is still a solid player.

Return to New York Knicks
