Re: Jayson Tatum
So to summarise:
If tatum improves his D (which should only be down to will as he has the physical tools for it) and develop a legit 3pt (which shouldn't be a problem when you look at his ft%) , tatum would become a all star?

Nope.
You should read posts better.

I don't think they're an ideal fit by any stretch, but I think it's a better fit than Isaac, who some Magic fans like.

Tobias is the closest comparison IMHO. Of course they're not the same, no two players are equal
He's going to score more than Harris, for sure. And 15 years ago he would be valued as a star. But right now, I don't think he's that valuable.
I know they're not even close regarding skillset, but I feel the same way about tatum that I feel about Jahlil Okafor. They were born too late. Both skillsets and styles are interesting and rare, but exactly what the league is getting rid off.
A skillset is never 'out of date'. You just need to be very good at 1 thing (if you're not a 2-way player). Zach Randolph is a good example. Not a good defender, nor shooter, but 1 of the best inside scorers and rebounders ever. Very efficient.
And Memphis fared pretty well with him.
.
Skill sets can definitely go 'out of date'. The league has has changed drastically in the past 15 years making many big man skills less in demand and many small man skills more in demand.
Things are cyclical. Not everyone can be the Warriors. People think because the Warriors are dominating with this small ball style you can just grab a bunch of shooters and suddenly win 72 games. The warriors are an extremely unique case, and it's not gonna be replicated very easily. If Draymond Green was gone we wouldn't even be talking about small-ball dominating the league, and D Greens don't grow on trees. As more and more teams try to copy the inside outside style, you'll find other areas of the floor open up that are currently well guarded. Just wait until Philly hits their stride. You won't see many teams copying the Warriors in that era.

If you think this is cyclical then you're just going to be the last passenger on the train. The league is going to have to make significant rule changes to reverse how the Warriors, Cavs and every playoff level team in the league is playing now and teams still trying to play 'big' are watching the playoffs from home in this era. The skill set teams require from a PF has already changed completely the past 12 years and it appears to be changing in C's now right before our eyes.
Even the team you used as an example, Philly, have Embiid and Saric at te big spots, both of them high volume 3 point shooters and Simmons is a Forward with PG skills more. Bad example to support your point really.

So you think teams are gonna be able to play small ball against Embiid Saric and Simmons?

It's a less than ideal forward duo.
Not to say it wouldn't work, but you would for sure need a 3pt specialist at SG (Ross) and a PG who can shoot 3s as-well.
A draft strategy of Tatum at #6, Jawun Evans at #25 (a bit of a reach), Tyler Dorsey at #33 (a reach to most, but I think Dorsey can easily be a rich man's Jordan Clarkson), and finish it off by drafting more PG depth at #35 with either Frank Jackson or Edmond Sumner and I think they are in great shape to really get creative in the off-season by trading Elfrid Payton and Evan Fournier.
Evans / Sumner
Ross / Dorsey / Hezonja
Tatum / Ross / Hezonja
Gordon / free agent PF
Biyombo / Vucevic
That's what their roster could be without even considering what they could get for Payton/Fournier, who I concede aren't very good players, but Payton is making pennies this year and Fournier is still a viable secondary/tertiary option on a good team, he's just had to do too much as the #1 guy on Orlando. His contract is large, but it's not cap killing, it's pretty reasonable when you compare it to some of his peers like Evan Turner, DeMarre Carroll, etc he's better than them by a healthy margin
Though, maybe it's just smarter to take Dennis Smith or De'Aaron Fox whichever is available at #6

God. The Magic have been rebuilding longer than the Lakers and Gordon is their only notable piece? And he's not much.

Why not? Pretty sure he should be at least an All-Star level player in that scenario (which is far from unlikely IMO - Tatum lateral quickness is underrated I think, because he has very sketchy fundamentals. I rarely saw him being beaten due to the lack of lateral speed, it was mostly because he'd put himself in a hole at the start of the play with bad technique/lousy effort. I'm more pessimistic about his shot actually - he has a tendency to fall back which is a nasty habit to correct).

Evan is a good 3pt specialist
But I agree on drafting frank jackson if we draft Isaac /tatum

I havent kept up with the workouts. Have they worked him out? He definitely is a better fit than Jackson. I think he is the best fit out of all the guys in the top 4 so it definitely makes sense that Boston trade down a couple spots to grab him. If they keep the pick.

Yes. They've worked out all the top prospects except Ball and Josh Jackson.

How much of Tatum's ISO ball had to do with Duke not really having a PG?

update:
The Celtics had previously worked out Tatum, I think in LA.

Tatum is like a very poor man's Melo. I think the C's would be making a mistake to draft him at #3.
