I think conventional wisdom says, the best way for LeBron to knock off the Warriors, is to slide over to power forward, thus leaving only one other big on the floor (Thompson, Bogut, whoever). If this is their plan, then Love is no longer needed, and their best trade chip.
Wade, Portis, Zipser for Love and Shumpert works in the trade checker. I have to think that the Cavs could get better for Love, Wade does not strike me as a value or plus player at this stage. But LeBron has been known to choose buddies over ballers.
I still don't think the Cavs would have enough to knock off the Warriors, but Zipser and Portis gives them 2 guys that can hit the open shots LeBron gets you.
Thompson, Bogut
LeBron, Portis, Frye
Korver, Zipser
JR Smith, Wade
Irving, Williams
As for the Bulls, I like the idea of adding an all star level talent Jimmy's age, with a complimentary game. Love and Jimmy would be a fantastic pairing.
Fantasy? Sure. Will be interesting to see what the Cavs do next. I do see them playing LeBron as their 4 and makinga play for a few players with young legs who can shoot.
