Do you have a link for the 2-5 reverse protection. I hadn't seen that anywhere.

Wait, Woj saying pick is protected 2-5 in his article? That would be some weird ****.

We only get it if it is 1st, or 6-30?

LOL, doubt that. Suspect it is the the other way around.

Just the throwing it out there. Worse part is Danny won't explain crap.

Danny sucks bruh

He sucks for building a 50+ win team with potentially two 5 picks next year?

Bruh

Edit: I don't like the trade either, guys

You a Colts fan? Raptors?

Where do we hang our 50 win season banners. Out of curiosity

Woj's wording in his article is weird. Everyone else has told me it is LA to PHI if 1 or 6-30. To BOS if 2-5.

Also, locking it up. Time for a new thread.

Hes fine at getting the picks, its turning them into talent that he hasnt done recently. The 76ers now have 3 players with more talent and upside then anyone on the celtics. I'm not a fan of the trade, but I could get over it, its the fact that we may have just set up the successors to the cavs in the east without winning the trade outright that irks me.

And that talent and upside has translated into what? A fired GM. Every player who is due a pay check gets traded for .25 on the dollar. The reality is that Bradley and Crowder are players the Sixers have no players. Upside has little trade value when it is attached to a guaranteed salary and headaches. Noel will get a max deal this year but nobody would give up a 1st round pick for him in a trade. World moves fast.

Its translated into the 76ers being in a better position than us for a post prime GS/Cle world. They have 3 guys who could potentially become superstars (not saying they all will but I would bet anything at least 1 of them will be a top 10 player within 3 years). In the NBA unless you are fielding superstars you have no chance to win it all, the Celtics currently have no one who is near a top 10 player and nobody who has realistic potential to be 1 (and i like brown).

You could add 2 of Butler/PG13/Hayward/Griffin and this team would STILL have no chance in hell at beating GS even if we got by Lebron. How we made this big a trade with a division rival and didnt get them to overpay blows my mind.

What if the Nets throw some cap space around win 30-35 games? THere is a very REAL possibility we land outside the top 5 in next years draft, The celtics DESPERATELY need a franchise player and we passed on the closest thing. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...

A franchise player doesn't get it done anymore you need 3-4 All Stars right now. The Sixers position is no different today than it was yesterday when they had the 3 pick and Lakers pick next season, they have a bunch of young expensive talent they have to try and mold into a team and the clock is running. They will now have back to back #1 picks and neither player has shown any ability to win basketball games on a team that has shown no ability to win basketball games.

Do you honestly think the Sixers are going to win games next year? Fultz couldn't win games with a bad team in the PAC 12 how is he going to do it in the NBA. If Fultz lives up to the hype it is still going to be 2 or 3 years from now and the Sixers will probably be on to another Head Coach and front office by then.

Our overflowing backcourt of non star players???

You don't draft a potential all star because you have 5 bench players in front of him.

Holy freaking crap
.

First off what if you don't see a potential All Star but a young kid with a lot of question marks?

Second there is an All Star at PG already on the team. Boston is angling for an All Star wing player whether it is Hayward, Butler, or George. This would greatly limit any impact that Fultz could have in the short term as he is primarily a scorer.

Fultz may or may not be the best of this draft class but what has made this draft special is that there are 5-10 potential All Stars in this draft. Some of those players actually helped their team win games this year.

Coming into this year Giles, Jackson , Tatum where the top players with Fultz and Ball at 4 and 5. Giles was hurt and didn't perform but if you decided to asses how players did in conference play and against other top end talent you would come away with it looking like Jackson and Tatum on top followed up by Fultz and Ball and Fox probably having moved into that top 5 group. If you need a pg then Fultz, Ball, and Fox look great. If you have 4 guys in your top 8 that already under 6'5" not so much.

What is happening is completely logical but so many people of convince themselves of the illogical that this is hard to accept.

Exactly. There are probably two targets the Celtics have after Jackson and Fultz.

This is the problem right here because Jackson looks like a role player and Ball looks like a pass first PG. the only player IMO that has star potential is Fultz.

Thinking there is not much separation in the top 4 is really bad scouting

While I think this trade blows, i will trust pro scouters over internet fans for sure.

Who are the pro scouters you trust? In general you don't know what pro scouts think because they get paid to tell teams their opinions and broadcasting them for free on the internet defeats that purpose. If you are talking about draft web sites like draftexpress then you are in fact listening to fans on the internet Giovany was a realgm poster. Has done great job for himself and his website but he is not a pro scout.
