Why would Indy have interest in Love? We have the best cookies in the cookie jar.
Ainge gets PG13, if he wants him bad enough.

Lebron swapping Love for George does not get them past Golden State.
The Rondo Show wrote:More importantly, Ainge will never have a more dominant position of leverage in trade talks for a star than in these talks. You could legit potentially hang onto all of your core future assets (#3, J.Brown, BKN '18, LAL/SAC pick) because George has killed his market so bad that people are actually debating whether a 29 year old max $$$ Kevin Love is enough for George, and it's not totally crazy. Any star you get is going to come at a far higher cost than this.chrisab123 wrote:
Make the deal and sign Hayward/Griffin. That's a contender.
Now there is a reason for that and he is a legit flight risk no matter what this board claims, but for the price I imagine it'll cost? Worth it. Hope Ainge pulls the trigger, though I'm skeptical he will. He's soured away from rentals lately, think he will here but hoping he takes the risk like he was supposedly willing to on CP3 years ago.
Leverage matters. The guy literally just told the public he's leaving them at end of year so they have to trade him to avoid losing him for nothing. And he even went a step further and scared off a bunch of potential suitors by leaking that he wants to go to the Lakers in FA. A Lakers team that apparently isn't interested in coughing up assets to get him for this year when they are rebuilding. That means he's looked at as a rental, and rentals don't have close to fair trade value. They can demand those kind of assets all they want, they aren't getting them. If they got 1 of those assets it would be an incredible job by them where they defy the odds, let alone multiple.darylbe wrote:robdog_5 wrote:Why do people say we're mortgaging are future if we trade 2 first for PG13 and 2 role players. Bos 2018 will be late. Lakers/Sacramento won't know. We can keep Jaylen, keep Zizic, keep #3 pick and keep 2018 BRK which IMO are the top assets
Because these teams would want you unborn child, that's why we sat there Jerking it last year. Nobody is getting anything for a Boston or Memphis 1st. They will demand multiple bkn/la/Philly firsts. Why the f would it change now

What do they want? What can they get? Every team knows it is likely a rental; which is why Cleveland could be in the mix. I could see James wanting to part with draft picks to get George on his team and Shumpert, Frye, Tavares works money wise.
George didn't do the Pacers any favours.

Then adding George here even adding Hayward/Griffin doesn't get them by GS either.
So what's the point?
Can you really? 3 years ago for sure. Just how big is the market for a 29 year old Kevin Love who has had knee/back injuries and been exposed defensively on the national stage multiple years now? Is it really that much richer than what you could flip Bradley, Crowder for? Plus we have far more picks than CLE to offer and a couple semi interesting young prospects in Yabusele and Rozier.CelticsPride18 wrote:DK-All Day wrote:CelticsPride18 wrote:If Love is on the table it might be hard to top that.

Because you can flip Love for better assets than our mid level assets we would offer.

He's already a Laker in his mind.

Because we're set up for incremental imrpovements every year. We don't have to be Golden State competitive by this year's training camp. Lebron's window is closing soon so he has to be.
