They won't get him at all if he is traded somewhere else and likes it there?

Oh well.

PG13 could then tell suitors that can offer more to Pacers than CLE, that it's fruitless because he is gone after the year is over if they trade for him.

I could see LeBron pulling some back door wheeling and dealing like that.

Haha - then if it doesn't work out they both high tail it out to LA together ;(...

Its a really risky game to play when its contenders that are rumored to trade for him.

He would have to give up both money and a contending team to go to LAL. He might not, as much as he seems to love the place.

If Lakers let him experience another team, they are tempting fate.

Oh well...gonna be at least 3 years minimum before a team other than GS or SA contends. I'm not throwing the future away to become a treadmill team. Other teams are taking a bigger risk trading for him when he's already made it known L.A. is his preferred destination.

But two way stars like George don't come around much. Picks are inherently volatile.

Lets say you are a treadmill team for a few years. All you give up in the above referenced trade is a 6th man type in DiAngelo and 2 mid-first round picks. George for 5 years is easily worth that.

In general, I think Paul George is pretty overrated. He's really not moving the needle all that much for anyone if he's coming there as the expected franchise player, which is why it doesn't make too much sense for teams like LAL or Miami to trade anything significant for him. Boston would make sense, because they have a great system in place, with a lot of great role players, and if they were able to be so successful with IT, imagine what they could do with PG. But Cleveland probably makes the most sense, with regards to playing as 2nd option with LeBron, and having two elite defenders to throw at KD in an inevitable Finals rematch. George would be in his ideal role, and it's the best team he could join (well, other than GS lol...not sure if they have enough talent...)

Works for everyone involved! :D

I agree that works. Who else will Cleveland get then? Cause PG, LeBron and Kyrie prob not be enough to beat Warriors next year. Melo?

Not Melo. They need two-way players & someone to replace Love's rebounding. But, it definitely works.

Laker fans in this thread are blowing my mind. You would rather lose Paul George than have to give up a late pick or two along with a young player that looks to be an average NBA starter at best? Pass the pipe..

What I'm afraid of is if he joins Lebron and raise the trophy together, I don't think he joins another team in 2018. Must be crazy to join another team after championship, as he was always complaining about not competing enough for the title.

Looks like Lakers may be getting a little rattled.

So Indiana is going to take on 46 million in salary for Love, no high end drafts pick to help their rebuild, all to keep him from the Lakers?

Ya or what take Randle smh they can just make it a 3 way with another team wanting Love. Example Dallas and the 9 pick or charlotte with 11/Frank the Tank

Why would the Hornets trade the 11th pick and Frank the Tank, when they already have 38 million tied into Zeller, Williams and Plumlee?

Cause all them combined isn't close to Love talent and Jordan isn't gonna tank

Crazy to me how a team with little to no capspace and young assets can acquire a Superstar of George's calibre or just impaxtful players in general.

That korver trade blew my mind. Like Atlanta seriously couldnt find a better offer from essentially ANY other team?

Exactly...its beyond comical but teams just love to see LB play in the finals...whats even more funny is these teams are in the East lol

I don't think George is a good fit with the Cavs. There is only one basketball after all. They are going to lose even with George because Durant is the best player in the league.

But ya I'm surprised we haven't dangled Randle at least and the Houston 1st. I guess Magic really is intent on getting George for free next season. Amazing patience by the GOAT.
