Greg Robinson traded to the Lions, reportedly for a 6th round pick next year. That was some kind of a draft bust....

Terron Armstead tore his labrum (wimp; I've had torn labrums in both hips for years...) and is out 4-6 months.

I'm not one to revel in injuries, but this could have a fairly significant effect on the value of that second round pick they sent our way in what should be one of the tighter divisions in the league. Might turn out to be lucky for them - at least in the short term - that we jumped them to take Foster and they ended up with Ramczyk.

Michael Floyd - WR - Vikings
TMZ Sports reports Michael Floyd has violated terms of his arrest by testing positive for alcohol.
Unbelievable. Floyd's alcohol monitoring system reportedly flagged him five times earlier this week. At least three of those were deemed "high alcohol tests," and Floyd allegedly blew BAC counts of .044 and .055 on two of them. Under terms of his house arrest stemming from his extreme DUI last year, Floyd isn't permitted to have a single drop of alcohol. He's blaming the failed tests on an herbal tea. If the court determines Floyd broke the rules, he could be headed back to jail. He's due back in court on June 26 in Arizona to "explain" the failed tests.

Kevin White - WR - Bears
Over the past two decades, no first-round wide receiver who managed fewer than 20 receptions in his first two NFL seasons has become a success.
The list is comprised of five infamous busts -- Marcus Nash, Rashaun Woods, R. Jay Soward, A.J. Jenkins, and Yatil Green -- and, of course, Bears third-year WR Kevin White, who caught 19 passes in four games last season but has failed to play in his remaining 28 games possible. You can read more about the Bears' 2017 outlook in Evan Silva's Team Fantasy Preview at the link below.

Eric Decker - WR - Titans
Titans signed WR Eric Decker, formerly of the Jets, to a one-year contract.
The Jets continued their roster purge by dumping Decker last week. After fielding a relatively weak group last season, the Titans have beefed up their receiving corps this offseason by drafting Western Michigan standout Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick and now by scooping up Decker. Hip and shoulder issues limited Decker to just three games in 2016 but he's now at full health and should give Marcus Mariota another big body to throw to inside the red zone. The Titans are suddenly flush with pass-catchers with Decker, Davis, Rishard Matthews and Delanie Walker all slated for important roles.

The latest smart NFL signing.......
David Harris, Patriots...
assuming he's not going to be forced into an expanded role due to outside factors. Sheesh!

http://www.espn.com/blog/detroit-lions/post/_/id/29470/lions-carry-11-dl-dbs-in-very-early-53-man-roster-projection
Interior offensive line (5)
In: T.J. Lang, Travis Swanson, Graham Glasgow, Joe Dahl, Laken Tomlinson
Cut: Matt Rotheram, Brandon Thomas, Leo Koloamatangi*
Why: This is pretty simple at this point, although it'll be interesting to see how the Lions handle Tomlinson. His base salary of $1,212,296 is guaranteed for this year, which might be enough to let Detroit give him one more shot. Koloamatangi could be a camp surprise.
If I don't have to play by the rules with the dating of the news and the previous signings (Fusco, UDFAs), I'd MUCH, MUCH, MUCH rather have Tomlinson on this roster than Fusco, any of the Fusco, or if you are in the camp that thinks Barnes may eventually be moved to guard as well. Loved Tomlinson coming out. Would've been a better system fit last year but I'd still take the chance over the others and see what I could get out of him on this team.
Note: Brandon Thomas is expected to get the boot, too. FWIW

Re: Around the NFL Thread
Vikings announced former 49ers strength and conditioning coordinator Mark Uyeyama (2011-14) to the same position. He also was the team's Director of Human Performance (2015-16). He got his start with the 49ers as their asst. strength and conditioning coach (2008-10). He was named the strength and conditioning coach of the year in 2011.
I've seen him talk at length on the work he's done in college and in the NFL over the years and I was always impressed by him based on the little I know about being that type of coach (extended family is in that line of work on smaller levels) and by what others in the NFL have said about him. I know he got a little bit of criticism towards the end with all the injuries that piled up, somewhat unfairly at times IMO, but I was always impressed by him and the types of things he believed in from a training aspect. Was sad to see him go.

Chiefs should've just promoted Chris Ballard to GM back in January. That's whom I wanted the Niners to hire.
