I believe it has a lot to do with the Nets deal and the way media is working it and hyping it over past year or so. And also hyping the Celtics situation to the max, it has made other teams vary of trading with them unless they are sure they get the better end of the stick. Being afraid that if they make a "so-so" trade with the Celtics, they might be the next in line to be ridiculed like the Nets.

Take the Butler trade for example. I truly believe that Celtics made a very comparable offer or maybe even better offer for Butler than T-Wolves (if they didnt, then Ainge truly is stupid) . But Bulls did not want to deal with the Celtics, only if they give them (Billy) Kings ransom (pun intended).

Everyone knows Ainge needs to start cashing in. He has devalued his own assets, by waiting so long to do so. He has tons of picks, lots of cap space, stashed players & a deep core. He has to consolidate. Either he has to keep letting guys walk in free agency, or trade multiple assets for 1 better asset. It was most evident last year when he had to reach for stash prospects, because he couldn't roster 5 picks.

Why?
1) It depends on how one perceives Dunn.
2) It sent Butler out of the conference.
3) It saves the owners from having to refuse to pay the super-max.
4) Moving Butler means going full rebuild, which the rightfully embraced.

I can't speak for LeVert cause I haven't seen him play much but Ingram finished the season off pretty strong.
I think the only reason Hield made first team over Ingram was because of the way he finished the season as well.

I think they didn't really give up much. Dunn and Lavine don't really move the needle, but that's subjective I guess.

Great article that was posted in the Wiretap forum:

Oscar Robertson is NOT hating that Westbrook broke his triple-double record

Yup it seems official. Kinda sad, I wanted to see the insanity go even further. Still hilarious that Dolan exercised the option to keep him and then fires him, costing him $24 million.

Jesus it took Dolan long enough. Jackson should have been fired the moment he ran his mouth about Carmelo. He's too busy having his goons getting into brawls with 50 year old ex NBAers to see that his franchise was an absolute **** show

kind of upset Jackson got fired. Loved how they've turned into a laughing stock with him.

During the past 2 years, Knicks have made me feel so much better about the Nets. Thanks Phil Jackson for that!

And to think that during the time he was hired by the Knicks, I truly hoped Prokhorov will get in the middle of this and get Phil Jackson to come to the Nets. Thank god we dodged that bullet and got a competent front office with Marks.

The only thing that can salvage this Knicks issue for me is....

.... Billy King. Hire Billy King Nolan...... then the circle is complete!
