What to do with the Sixers 49 million in cap space
The Sixers now have nearly 50 million in cap space to go along with the FEDS(wonder how Okafor feels about being left out there
). There are reports that they are going after JJ Redick, but I'm not a fan because I don't want to commit money long term when we will have to resign our core players. This is why I'd rather pull a Hinkie and take on expiring contracts to rebuild our assets.

Didn't Colangelo say something along the lines that the space will dry up quickly by signing their own guys?
I would expect them to sign maybe 1 player but save the rest for extensions.

Sign Waiters.
Fultz / Waiters / Simmons / Saric / Embiid.

Throw a ton of money at Redick or KCP.
Also, FEDS is horrible. Really, really bad.

Pope is too perfect for this Sixers team. Not sure if any offer can scare off the Pistons, but a max offer plus an asset to Detroit could get him if he wants to go there.

Embiid. Simmons. Fultz. Covington.
Dario and TJ are rotation players. As is Holmes.
Covington and Embiid come up next year, although renegotiating and extending Covington this year would be particularly smart.

They don't need to sign all those guys this year though. They should have plenty of cap room.

I like the idea of Reddick on a short term deal. Ie if his market value is 3 years 60 give him the 60 over 2 years. His shooting is a perfect on court fit and his leadership perfect on and off court

(I would renegotiate Covington this year, and give him a full 20m of that room.)
The thing about the save cap room argument is, that in a year when Embiid is up for a new deal you will have less cap room even if you saved it. Unfortunately, it still feels early, but that is how it goes.
If Philly R&E'ed Covington and signed one of Jrue/Redick/KCP for a deal at 20-25m, they would be down to 5-10m in cap room and a roster of:
Fultz / MConnell / Bayless
(Jrue/Redick/KCP) / TLC / Stauskas / Korkmaz (rumored to be coming over)
Covington / Anderson
Simmons / Saric
Embiid / Holmes / Okafor
And just one roster spot left

Convince me Redick is better than Jrue as a target. Or that Detroit lets KCP walk overmoney, and that he is really worth that much money?

Signing these guys is what I was talking about. I though Colangelo mentioned something along those lines that even though they have a massive amount it will dry up quickly.
The 76ers don't have to sign these guys straight away but I think they go after Reddick and then try and lock their own guys in which also leaves them with cap flexibility too.

Kyle Lowry. Why not go for him, yeah you have Fultz but if you get Lowry you go up to another level. He's from Philly and seemingly wants to be there. Imagine what a lineup they would have with him there.

Because he's 31 and not worth the price someone's going to pay him.

He's probably the 2nd best P.G available though. Also you need some vets at least around that locker room to provide a presence.

Is Lowry signing any kind of deal where he becomes a backup PG and "vet" mentor on a team of rookies? What's the point of signing someone like that for insane money when you want to start and develop Fultz? This is such a weak argument for signing Lowry unless he's coming over for backup money, or signing a 1 or 2 yr deal, which he isn't.
Let's face it, Lowry has been using the myth of Philly as a negotiating tactic with Toronto all along. I don't think Philly needs to be a participant in his salary negotiations with Ujiri. They can work it out on their own and leave us out of it.

nothing suggesting both couldn't play really.
