yeah of course, but not in this case. with melo it's more "let him shoot his team out of the game" type of approach.

and that's what melo does, whenever he's not in rhythm he'll say "f my team" and keeps on shooting while ignoring everyone else until he gets into a groove.

Ok.

see how easy it is when you just agree with me?

Carmelo Anthony has told the Knicks that he wants a buyout—but his demand comes with a major stipulation.

Anthony reportedly would only accept a buyout—for less than the $54.2 million owed him—to join the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It was previously reported that Carmelo would consider a buyout to join Chris Paul and James Harden in Houston, but that appears to be no longer the case.

That seems like NON News. Who cares where he wants to play? He can make that choice if bought out?

Stephen A. Smith: “Correct. I’m not saying that it’s a lot less, but I’ve learned that he’s made it very, very clear that the one team he’d accept the buyout for is Cleveland.” […]

Pretty sure he doesnt have to clear waivers if he's bought out.

I for one would trade Melo for Ryan Anderson plus a future first round pick if this is the best deal we're offered. We're trying to get off the mediocrity treadmill. Removing a good player in Melo while adding a sh&t player like Anderson does exactly that. Then when the Knicks are ready to compete during the 2019/2020 season we'll have two big expiring contracts in Anderson and Noah.

stand corrected, Melo would still have to clear waivers if he's bought out.

LaLa she wants Melo close to them. Melo said he wants to stay close.

Can't see Houston happening.

Cleveland or New York is really all see for him.

Why go any place else?

Just let him go then and don't worry about free agents. It's not like the Knicks are becoming champions in 2 years.

You can wait until the big free agents are off the market though. Let's see how bad Cleveland wants him in case Melo may not mind being traded by then.

Houston wants Millsap and he is a better player in 5 on 5 basketball. There is no trade for this contract. NTC is nice for saving face. He's a great player for 15 mil..

Boston would seem the most logical. Boston to NY shuttles run regularly throughout the day. Anthony already has a place in Westchester which is only about a little over 3 hours drive from Boston. Boston also is one of 2 cities outside of NYC that can be reached via helicopter none stop.

Houston doesn't have assets to acquire Millsap though. Melo is a little bit more realistic because we'd probably do it for nothing but cap relief and a pick in 2020 or something.

I think the Anthony to Houston talk is predicated on the Knicks buying him out. That way they can actually bring Anthony in AND go after a sign and trade for Milsap.

Starting to feel like Hornacek doesn't like Carmelo either.

I could feel tension there last season during games.
