It was moreso about how his contract was set up than anything.

We now only now owe him 2 million which I believe we stretched over 3 years so essentially just about 666,667 per season. So it was more a business move rather than anything.

Yeah it was.
However I don't get why they needed to stretch it. Could have just used the 2 mill this coming season. Gotta handcuff the FO somehow!

IMO the Tolliver stretch and max player rumors (Millsap) are related. Kings are really going to try and do it.

I'm opening up to the idea of Millsap on a 3 year deal. The signing would do wonders for all our young bigs.

I mean in a perfect world they don't add him.... but if they do I can see some benefits

I'm cool with Millsap if he were interested. Skal getting a few seasons to improve behind Millsap would be a positive IMO. Skal has serious potential but I don't think he's ready in the same way some of the other Kings young players are. By the time Millsap slid into the background Skal should be ready to take over.

I love Millsap's game even at his age but isn't max for him $35 million per for next 4 years? Ouch. Per Zach Lowe via STR Kings ready to throw huge offers at Millsap and Gallinari. I could be down with Millsap but Gallinari would make me puke. For the amount of money he'd make and how often he's injured that would be a terrible signing.

I think it's 4yr/ $120M. PHX is rumored to be offering 3 yr... if true I hope Kings do the same

The Kings were close to committing over $200 million to Cousins before they decided to trade him. For that reason I can see them offering big contract to Millsap. While both are All-Stars Millsap has led teams to the playoffs. He's older than Cuz but a much better influence on our young core. To beat out Suns I'm thinking Kings would have to offer that 4th year.

Sounds like Millsap is #1 target which matches Kings previous interest. At $30 to $35 million per year that would take up big chunk of cap space. PF would be addressed but we still need PG and SF. Hill and even Collison would cost too much as would Porter, Gallinari, Roberson for SF.

Jason Jones tweeted Lawson and Kings showing mutual interest. He'd be cheaper as would Ingles at SF.

Millsap, Lawson, and Ingles?

There are some reports that a mystery team could meet with Hayward. Even though there were no rumors that relates Kings with him, I think that team would be Kings by considering availability of cap space and biggest need is a SF.

While it is very unlikely that Hayward can sign with us, I do not really want us to sign an injury prone bad defender SF in Gallinari.

Phoenix can't match 4/$120 mil this year, unless they offer and increasing scale. They only have $26.7 mil in total practical cap space.

Don't crush me. I know Porter is the more active defender.

I just thought it was interesting looking at the stats

Defensive Win Share -
DG - 8.5
OP - 7.7

Defensive Rating (points allowed per 100 poss)
DG - 111
OP - 106

Much closer than I thought. Gallinari's injuries though are a concern. Has only played 60 or more games 4 times in 8 yrs.

I can't knock Gallo the player when he's healthy.

Holy cow 30 million! I for some reason didn't see a single team actually throwing max at him. 3 years isn't terrible but if it starts getting to some of that 4-5 year stuff then you have to think about that one.

I bet Lawson is the cheap PG option to fall back on
