Nuggets Looking To Unload Salary To Pursue George Hill

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 3, 2017 5:30 am

The Denver Nuggets have interest in signing George Hill in free agency.

Denver will need to unload salary such as Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur now that they've come to an agreement with Paul Millsap.

Hill figures to be one of the free agents squeezed by a softer than anticipated market and a dearth of available point guard spots.

I can't understand why Denver would spend big dollars on Hill. He's certainly a decent starter in the league, but he and Millsap are not going to put them in the hunt in the West.

It makes them a solid playoff team, dark horse Western Finalist contender. For some teams, that's enough.

are you sure? it is pretty realistic that nuggets might not make the playoffs.

Denver's starting 5 is pretty good with Hill

Milsap
Jokic
Hill
Barton
W. Chandler
Murray
Gary Harris
Juan Hernangomez
Mudiay
Hibbert
Trey Lyles

The West will certainly be tough, but that team should make the playoffs.

After GSW, HOU, SAS, OKC... no one is clearly better. I would have that DEN team right there with MIN, NO, MEM, and UTA (assuming Hayward re-signs).

They barely missed the playoffs last year.

Faried and Arthur are on decent contracts, should be easy to move them for cap space.

Yes but pelicans and wolves improved, too. In pelican's case, they will have a full season with holiday, cousins and Davis.

What a bunch of crap :D
Have you seen them play last season? Now if they replace a Mudiay/Nelson with Hill AND add an All-Star level player in Millsap they miss the play-offs?
Come on, man! (in Hubie Brown-fashion)

The team is well balanced even if they lose Gallo.

If I was the Lakers or bulls they should take them for 4- top 3 protected first round picks , Denver is not making the playoff in the wild west

Four first rounders to unload Arthur and Faried who together use 20 million of cap space and are serviceable backups? Why dont you ask for Jokic as well... You could get a 2nd for Arthur's 7 mil and Faried might be useful as an energy guy of the bench so he might not be traded anyway. Atlanta, Chicago, Brooklyn, Phoenix might take some vet along with Lyndon or some other young guys etc.

Brooklyn should be all over this. Here's a chance to get a draft pick and some quality players.

Yeah, if the picks are good.

Problem I guess, is that Marks want the 4 to be about to shoot and Arthur isn't much different from Acy
