Yeah, but what does it take to get Smart? Don't want to lose McDermott or Abrines. Grant is expendable.

I would part with Grant, McDermott and possibly Ferguson.

Can we come up with a nickname for our starting lineup?

I've resisted up 'til now but I feel like at this point if it takes the Chicago 2nd rounder to get a competent backup point guard its worth it.

Made a thread for 2Pat. Check it out. Will be adding some more things to it.

Also,

The commitment eliminates the Thunder from contention on free agent forward Rudy Gay, who visited with the organization over the weekend. Gay is searching for a larger deal than the Thunder were able to pay him, with Miami, Utah, San Antonio and Brooklyn among teams still interested in Gay, league sources said.

For Oklahoma City, Patterson, 28, is the ideal replacement in the starting lineup for Taj Gibson, who left for Minnesota in free agency.

That deal is a goddamn heist. Absolutely monstrous offseason by u guys so far

I never thought he could be had for such a low number. He makes less than Abrines.
I feel for Utah, but congrats to you guys on Hayward. I've liked him for a while and with IT, you can do some real damage.

They wouldn't want anything back as far as salary. They need to just dump raw salary. We can't offer a first, but if we keep Kanter, I guess we could use the CHI 2018 2nd.

I'm really glad that we were able to get a starting PF without having to get hardcapped or give up Abrines/ Ferguson just to get a S&T.

Great job Presti. Exactly the PF I wanted given our cap space situation.

It's still a bit of a gamble because if Pat doesn't work, we don't have any other alternative, but it's a great deal and great fit. Now we have 0 excuses to not move the ball and Adams should have more freedom inside the paint.

I think we may arguably have the second best starting line up in the West. Still far from second best roster/team. An average back up point guard and a good scorer from the bench would be awesome (dreaming too big)

Defense should be legit too. Bench still trash, need huestis to break out and smart. That would give us 2 more bench defenders than we had last year.

It seems to me market value for robes should be 6-8 million based off what other guys are getting now. Sure he'll get more, but is he even better than Patterson overall?

Abrines and Grant should improve, just need a better back up point guard.

Having Rondo would be great for our second unit. He would just feed our shooters and help them get easy buckets.

Love the Patterson deal. Wanted him or Gallinari. No more being forced into 2 big lineups with Adams and Kanter clogging the lane. OKC going for a spread model with guys who can play defense still.

Raptors fans seem to be very happy he's gone. Are we missing something?

I'm guessing the TPE is used for one of the following (smart, Rozier, Nelson, grant)

Then I think there is a legit chance you could add another decent player to this team for a minimum contract as money is drying up quick. Here are a couple of guys that would make sense to look at

Ilyasova
Jerebko
Evans

With george/pat/grant I can't see any reason to ever play Kanter at the 4 again. Billy will find a reason though.

Toronto fans hAve split personalities on everyone. Half the fanbase loves every guy on the roster and the other half hates them all.

I think the primary complaint I'm seeing is that he played poorly in the playoffs, but I'm willing to overlook that at this point because of small sample size and Toronto as a team lacked confidence in the playoffs. I feel like if Lowry had left Toronto, they'd be saying the same of him. I imagine it's more of culture and getting over the hump thing, than a Patrick Patterson thing. Maybe naivety on my part.

Then there is this:

I love the Patterson signing so much.

This offseason has been wonderful. And it's still not over. I fully expect Presti to add a competent backup PG and maybe another piece as the time goes by. We'll see.

Also, another underrated factor in this situation is we're now a buy-out destination during the regular season. Haven't really thought about possible buy-out candidates yet, but that does help as there are some quality players available every season around that time.

Oh & hi, I'm new here lol

Sounds eerily familiar... where have I seen fans like that before... hmmmm

Also - even some of the Raptors fans saying good riddance to PP are saying that this deal is a steal. At his worst, PP is still worth every penny of this deal.

Is Rudy Gay over or we still have a shot on him? wouldn't mind Gay as 6th man

I get the impression that's over, may be out of Presti's price range.
