Weren't our odds 12/1 before the signing? :p seems like they just lowered SAS and Houston and kept us the same.

No, we were 15/1 (IIRC).

2 guys I think would be good targets would be Hermangomez from NYK and Portis from Bulls. 2 younger guys who are on a low contract. Give up Crowder and see if that flip would work. If not throw in a Bos 2018 pick considering it will be late in the draft and if Danny treasure trove Ainge is worried about losing a pick have NYK toss in their 2nd round pick. Crowder would be a productive get for both teams, plus a late first rd pick helps take the sting out of losing a young role playing big.

I trust Danny. He is a step ahead of the game. He clearly has follow ups in place. We will have a trade by end of this week

Not my first choice, but in theory Vonleh is a prospect- still only 21 - who can rebound.

And Leonard earned a big contract by old-max standards because in theory he's a stretch 5 with some upside. In reality he's a toxic contract, but if we don't want to bet on ironing him out, a team like Atlanta or Brooklyn might. We could get a first or two in the bargain.

Definitely not my first choice.

Worst case scenario imo
Bet with Stillwater Celtics will finish 6th or higher in ECF Standings Regular Season(17-18). [WON]

I think we could get Portia for rosier imo
But yes Hermangomez is perfect

Festus Ezeli or Noah Vonleh could be trade options if we are shipping Crowder out... Vonleh averaged 9.6 RPG vs GSW in 27 MPG FWIW. Both would address rebounding and rim protection

2 problems with that. Rozier alone isn't enough $ to make up the difference we need to give Hayward the MAX. #2 Bulls don't want more PG or small G's most likely. They have Dunn coming in and already have Payne and Grant who are young and if they want to have Levine play some PG that is too many cooks in the kitchen. I'd offer

Rozier and DJackson together to Knicks may get us back Hermangomez and will create 1.1 usable space (not sure if that's enough to get Hayward the max) but we would likely have to incorporate a pick for sure with that one. Either Grizz, Clips or ours in 2018 (may still not be enough).

I've seen Faried suggested a few times. I know he's a good rebounder and energy guy but how is his defense, especially against the pick and roll?

Sort of on, off topic - Olynyk getting interest from the Jazz, Kings, Nets, Pacers.

We could get a solid big for cheap from Portland. They got a real logjam there. Ed Davis or Vonleh would be worth a shot

Leonard is redundant with Theis and Hayward on the team. Contract sucks. Vonleh doesn't look like he's going to get it.

*Puts on tinfoil hat*
My theory is that this Gasol "rumor" was planted by Ainge as part of a long con to build pressure on the Memphis front office to convince them they need to tear it down soon or risk being stuck in treadmill purgatory with an aging, expensive, and injury-prone roster in a conference they no longer have any chance of competing with at a high level.

Well I mean they really have no choice. A trade has to occur.

I wonder if we could work something out with Dallas to give them more of a "win" now roster. Would need a team (say CHI) to absorb some salary for a 2nd rounder since DAL is capped out, but something like:

BOS: DSJ
DAL: 2 of Smart/Crowder/Bradley, CHI 2nd rounder
CHI: Dwight Powell

Salaries match up whichever 2 you use, so they can have their pick really. DAL has:

Matthews / Barnes / Dirk / Noel with 2 of AB/Marcus/Jae. That's a solid 6. Not much depth, but it's not like they're really rebuilding either and want to give Dirk a better shot for his last year(s).

Chicago or someone else gets Dwight Powell for a 2nd rounder.
We get DSJ and a lot of cap room.

ETA: Add in BOS18 to DAL if need be.

I like this idea. I prefer Portis, and it looks like the Bulls have a need at the SF position. Also, they drafted Lauri Markkanen who plays the same position as Portis. Maybe a deal could be worked out.

The only way this deal gets done is if we add one of Jaylen or Jayson, or we trade Horford, which doesn't seem like an option. Otherwise, I don't see how this would be an option.

I have an idea

Celtics get Marc Gasol

Griz get Avery and Kanter and a first

Thunder get Marcus and Crowder

So the Thunder are giving up just Kanter for Smart and Crowder? When do they get arrested for theft?

They can give up the 1sts

Let's just sign Dirk to the room exception.

Maybe he wants one last shot at the finals.
