What's funny is the supermax was created for teams to pay their guy to stay but instead we see a team (Kings) forced to deal the player away and start the building process over. Also, we see the team doesn't get nearly the value they should due to said player possibly being a 1 year rental.

Supermax was a Good idea but it's not going to be 100% useful, its already proven to be an issue in certain situations. Also the supermax prerequisites need to be adjusted, something is wrong when Paul George (or any player) is not eligible for supermax because he didn't get enough votes from writers. Think about that for a minute.

As for trades, I say re write the trade restrictions.

As a life long Kings fan as well as a life long VC fan (since 1998), this is amazing. I always wished VC would somehow land on the Kings. It took a near 20 years but I will take it! I have never bought a jersey before, but now I am obligated to!

I know the feeling I was a life long Kings/Andre Miller fan and when he got traded for Sessions I could not believe it.

My first bought jersey from the Kings is still Chris Webber #4, when I jumped on a bandwagon in early 00's, now I'm gonna have to buy Vince Carter's jersey too, because he is in my top 5 favourite players of all time to watch. And I still can't believe he signed with the Kings.
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

Any word on what number Vince is going to be? I saw in the Kings rookie press conference that Jackson had 15 and Mason had 34. But on the Kings website, under roster, Jackson has 25 and Mason has 15? How does number selection work? If one of them already selected 15 would they still be able to give it to Vince? Vince just looked odd to me while he was with the Suns and Mavs wearing 25 :(

The rookie press conference was only the number they were picked at corresponding to their draft pick

I brought up his name a couple of weeks ago (I know some others did too) but Vlade needs to sign Troy Williams immediately before another team does. He is super athletic and tearing it up in Summer League. I know it's SL but he's averaging 25.7 pts through 3 games playing 26.3 minutes per game. He's only 22, known as a good defender, and plays SF. SIGN HIM VLADE! We don't have a roster spot open so I'd like to dump Malachi. He's injured again and I'm just not digging his game.

I'd also like to sign Jack Cooley to a 2 way contract. The new Brockman. He's tough and brings something different to the Kings front line.

I will be surprised if Kings sign 2-way contracts with players who are not named Cooley and/or Sampson. Both were part of Kings mini-FA camp and it seems like front office and coaching staff are trying to evaluate them in SL. I like what I see from both of them, Cooley is hardworking guy who knows how to contribute with a good skill set under the rim while JaKarr Sampson is an athletic, high energy guy that would give positive impact to a team in a limited minutes.

George Hill's contract is structured as $20 million in year one, $19 million in year two and $18 million in year three with only $1 million guaranteed in the third year.

Great news. So it is actually a two year contract, with Kings can easily decide on his third year based on the circumstance.

I can't state this enough: Vlade keeps surprising me with these savvy contracts. I absolutely love this one. Little risk is involved here and he is the right vet for us.

Reminds me of a counterpart in a different sport in Oakland. Was bumpy in the beginning but stayed with the plan. I foresee similar progress.

Random Question:
Has anyone read or heard anything about Willie Cauley-Stein and his boot camp training? I have been curious about this since he spoke about it.

You can get it custom on the Kings team store right now but it's the Adidas swingman and not the Nike. They're running for 79.99 right now.

I just got a Fox without even thinking about how Nike would be taking over :banghead:

I'm waiting for the Nike VC too though.

Looks like we signed Cooley on a two way contract!

Chris Reichert: The Sacramento Kings will sign Jack Cooley to a two-way contract, per league sources

Edit: Is this true? Hasn't necessarily made headline news

The Sacramento Kings are putting together a trade offer for Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving, league sources told Amico Hoops late Saturday.

The proposed package is expected to include rookie point guard De’Aaron Fox, sources said, and perhaps center Kosta Koufos, as well as others to help make the salaries match.
