What's funny is the supermax was created for teams to pay their guy to stay but instead we see a team (Kings) forced to deal the player away and start the building process over. Also, we see the team doesn't get nearly the value they should due to said player possibly being a 1 year rental.SacKingZZZ wrote: The NBA is going to have to look at a way of closing the gap between it's highest and lowest paid players because under the rules of trade restrictions it's just going to make it harder to make deals with those players so teams can get some type of value.
Supermax was a Good idea but it's not going to be 100% useful, its already proven to be an issue in certain situations. Also the supermax prerequisites need to be adjusted, something is wrong when Paul George (or any player) is not eligible for supermax because he didn't get enough votes from writers. Think about that for a minute.
As for trades, I say re write the trade restrictions.
