You realize that's 55 pounds he's benching right? I mean it's a little harder to bench on an incline but damn he's weak.

Maybe he did like 30 reps lol.

So funny to me when fans get excited about a player's ability just by watching them work out.

they need to fix that knee collapse.. knee collapse + weight coming down = bye bye acl/mcl.. and im not trying to sound like captain nitpick, but its a really really big deal and the cause of non-contact knee blowups.. look up "valgus collapse in athletes".. his is very very very bad.. the knees should be driving outward without compromising at the foot.. this is on every single movement possible (squat pattern, hinge (deadlift pattern), sprinting.. single leg -- everything)

source: I used to work under one of Nike's PTs

i really wish he signed with nike.. their training staff is absolutely loaded.. the best in the industry (gray cook, charlie weingroff, etc)

adidas does not have the best track record with their athletes (not that he seems to be training with them anyway)

Even worse than the knee collapse he is throwing out his back! Now I understand even with light weight / high rep routines fatigue sets in and you sacrifice your form. But he needs to be wearing a fucc'n belt! Dude is putting mad strain on his lower back.

alot of what he is doing is amateur..

but take my word for it, the knee collapse is frightening.. i address it day 1 with all my clients.. and i am not some bigtime trainer, but i know what's right and what's wrong, and that is scary wrong..

he doesn't necessarily need a belt (belts mainly are for the diaphram on big lifts).. but yes, you are right in that his whole sh*t is just way off

i don't know who he could work with from a name perspective.. perhaps Mike Boyle who is located in boston and i dont believe has an affiliation with nike or adidas, etc.. though he is tight with the big nike guys..

Is here someone who has some personal trainer background (and isn't some dude who goes to the gym two times a week and think he knows his ****) who can confirm or debunk that?

I'm no expert but I would assume that training for a high intensity cardio sport like basketball would be very different from a strength training regimen. I would hope that would be reasonably obvious to logical people.

I don't want to believe an NBA player (especially a young star) will work with wrong people. He has all the resources.

Pretty sure those are 25s on there. Should be a standard 45 pound bar, so it's 95 lbs total. Still weak, but for someone that has never pushed weight, it can be hard.

Who cares how much he lifts?

KP will get stronger as his body matures. People laughed at Durant for the same stuff as well.

Except Durant is twice as quick and explosive as KP is. Not to mention he handles the ball like a guard.

He can barely push that weight up without belly dancing like Shakira :o

Are you both trying to sound dumb or what? :D

You do realize that once you hit a certain number of reps any weight becomes hard to lift? Haven't you ever lifted anything other than max weight? For what we know this could be the 100th or 150th repetition with this weight.

So how much does KP lift? You think that this is all he can lift? For real? :D

Not going to dispute that although KP is a lot quicker that most 7 footers not named Kevin durant. My broader point is that wirey types don't come in right away and rule the bench press. Give it time, he'll get stronger.
