I really want something new besides Lebron (or warriors for that matter) , or do you guys see the ECF playing out similar to last year?

It won't happen. It's Warriors vs Cavaliers again.

15-20% chance imo. It's pretty rare for a team to make the Finals 4 years in a row; the Heat were the first to do it in a while and they fell apart in the Finals pretty quickly. The second LeBron can't be Superman every night in the playoffs they're vulnerable

I would say they have a puncher's chance, but not a good chance. Depends on health and a host of other factors. I wouldn't count the Wizards out either.

It is hard to say at this point since the Celtics made so many changes to their roster from last season.

A great chance at getting to ECF again. But Finals? Like someone else said, no chance unless Lebron is injured. It would be nice if someone else represented the East for once.

They still have good depth plus stars. So there is a chance. Wizards should be improved again. Their record should be better youd assume after that horrible start last year. A healthy Raptors should have a better record than last year. Bucks are another year older and should be better. Bucks wont make it but the east isnt actually that bad at the top. Heat should be as good as they finished last year.

The top 6 teams should all be near 50 wins up to 58. Cavs arent a lock. But they should still be favorites of course. I dont think we see a 4peat of the finals though.

They have a signifanct positive chance to make the Finals.

The Cavaliers are still the heavy favorites and for me the Celtics are not the (clear cut) second best team in the east.
I think there are teams in the east that match up better with the Cavaliers than the Celtics.

Lmao even if they got every player linked to them this offseason they wouldn't make it to the finals

So let's say Kyrie and Love go down with season ending injuries, do they beat the Celtics then? Even with LeBron?

The Celtics would beat the Cavs without Kyrie and Love IMO. It would be special circumstances, but it happened before.

IDK, LeBron took the Warriors to 6 games by himself in the Finals without Kyrie/Love and I think that Warriors team is leaps and bounds better than the current Celtics. I think the loss of Bradley is massively understated as he was the best player on the Celtics in the playoffs with IT hurt and the sole reason the Celtics didnt get mopped seriously by 45+ every game against the Cavs. Sure, Hawyward is better but we didnt exactly see Hayward light the world on fire in the playoffs when the Jazz needed him to perform like an All-Star and his defense isnt going to slow LeBron from controlling the entire game on offense.

I think it would be a 7 game series without Kyrie/Love--whatever way it goes after that is up in the air. We will see though how the Celtics (especially defense) look through the RS. It all depends on how long it takes them to reach their full potential.

Kyrie Irving / José Calderón / Kay Felder
J.R. Smith / Iman Shumpert / Kyle Korver
LeBron James / Jeff Green / Richard Jefferson
Kevin Love / Channing Frye / Cedi Osman*
Tristan Thompson / Edy Tavares

vs.

Isaiah Thomas / Terry Rozier
Gordon Hayward / Marcus Smart / Abdel Nader
Jae Crowder / Jayson Tatum / Semi Ojeleye
Marcus Morris / Jaylen Brown / Guerschon Yabusele
Al Horford / Daniel Theis / Ante Žižić

*Potentially joining in October and actually a Small-Forward.

I actually kind of like the Celtic's chances. They are not the favourites, but the development of their players could swing the series in their favour.

They probably have about as much of a chance as the Cavs had of winning the finals last season. Yes there is some chance, but it would be a major upset if they did it.

Is Kyrie Irving still being guarded by Isiah Thomas with no Avery Bradley? Then no--the Celtics will not be winning the series.

There's still some offseason and an entire season to go. Injuries trades etc. I think Bos needs a C in order to be able to dominate Cle and GS because as they are constructed it would be hard to score with the two 3 top teams.
