This song has some of my favourite lyrics, just brilliant imagery.

Madness is always fun.

Remember being at a music festival which was mainly full of metal heads who had never heard of Madness.
They came out and played Baggy Trousers and the crowd went nuts, dancing like idiots, it was truly awesome.

The new Sufjan Stevens album is not at all what I expected, but worth a listen.

New (relatively) Dirty Protectors is awesome.

Listened to The Wall by Pink Floyd start to finish this afternoon. Been a LONG time since I've done that. Might actually never done it on the studio album, I've listened to the live version much more than that studio one.

I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seat waiting for Fats 10 Favorite Steely Dan songs.

Kid Charlemagne - drug dealers on the run, Larry Carlton on guitar solos, perfection.

Peg - my go-to song for testing sound quality of headphones, perfect mix, Michael McDonald backup vocals

Home at Last - slow funky groove, Bernard Purdie on drums, lots of mythology in these lyrics.

Bad Sneakers - perfect example of Donald Fagen's quirky vocal style, such a great hook, McDonald again on backup vocals.

Night By Night - when I need a pick-me-up, this is the song I put on the headphones, definitely on my short list of songs I'd want to cover if I had a band.

Don't Take Me Alive - maybe my favorite lyrics, that opening guitar solo is so dirty.

Your Gold Teeth 2 - One of the jazzier Dan songs, funky time signature, and my favorite Dan guitar solo of all-time @2:19

Haitian Divorce - The Dan does reggae, so funky, great story, this video has cool animation to go along, wah-wah guitar masterpiece

Caves of Altimira - who else writes songs about prehistoric cave paintings? More of that slow funk.

Charlie Freak - another great lyrical story, killer piano

best part about the Dan, songs 30-40 are only a hair behind 1-10. There's no drop-off, just comes down to mood and preference.

Ranking original Steely Dan albums
1. Royal Scam
2. Aja
3. Katy Lied
4. Countdown to Ecstasy
5. Can't Buy a Thrill
6. Pretzel Logic
7. Gaucho

again, not much separating 1st and 7th.
