I see you're getting alot of likes but lets just be careful assuming we understand the mindset of kids 18yrs old. None of us are who we were at 18. All that matters now is whether he had elite skills for his age that can be coached. If I remember correctly Dallas' coach is one of the toughest and most respected in the league. He'll short'm out.

So was Jerry Sloan and know how that worked out with Deron Williams. The talent was there and it lead Williams to be a top 3 player at his position but ultimately got his coach fired and it went downhill quick for him right after. Nobody can assume anything...good or bad. Need to let actions speak and it's too early for that. We just need to sit back and let it all unfold.

I think the one that needs to stfu with the hyperbole is you. Here are the last few summer league mvps:
Tyus Jones,Kyle Anderson, Glen Rice Jr, Jonas Valanciunas, Josh Selby, Damian Lillard.

Out of all those only Damian lived up the the hype. The rest are either bench warmers or scrubs. But yeah let's put all of our stock on summer league. :noway:

Damn that was harsh right? Well then I guess Fultz is a loser too. Anyway, Im sure he just likes our pick as do I, and is sticking up for his boy by tearing down his competition. We'll see. I seen alot of guys be super men in the ncaas and not cut it. All Im saying is we gotta watch it play out.

Again, we're talking about translatable skills here. Of which Ball clearly has. He has a skill the NBA has not seen since Kidd. Which is elite vision and passing ability without being ball dominant. Now kindly, stfu. Thanks...

He was balling long before summer league and was a huge part of UCLA turning things around. There are certain people that have very special skills that you can see very early in their life. Hopefully this convo can take place in another thread. This one is for our guy Frank, :)

I hope Frank can be that guy that shuts me up. A freak athlete defender that is a core piece of a championship team. Right now I don't know. But I hope I am wrong in this one.

The Knicks’ new president Steve Mills didn’t take a lie detector test, but he vowed he would have drafted point guard Frank Ntilikina with the eighth pick if he had final say.

Sources told The Post that Phil Jackson and his top adviser, Clarence Gaines Jr., were hot and heavy for the 18-year-old Frenchman.

“I went over, I talked to our scouts a lot about Frank before the draft. I went over and watched Frank play prior to the draft, met with Frank’s coaches and learned a lot about who he is as a player and who he is as a person,’’ Mills said. “So I’m very comfortable with that draft pick. I would have selected Frank at that point in the draft myself. He’s a guy that fits in everything that we’re talking about right now. He’s a smart basketball player. He focuses defensively and his approach to the game, his work ethic, fit exactly in the direction that we want to take this team.’’

New Knicks general manager Scott Perry, working for Sacramento at the time, claimed he liked Ntilikina, too. The Kings tabbed point guard De’Aaron Fox at No. 5. Perry said the Knicks “need’’ to add a veteran at that position for Ntilikina.

We didn’t think he was a 5 [5th overall pick], but we were very interested,’’ Perry noted on ESPN Radio on Monday.

The Knicks have just $1.5 million in cap room, but sources told The Post they would like to add veteran point guard via trade.

“I think we need to — I’m going to continue to assess the roster,’’ Perry said. “I’m excited about young Frank, but also I think we’ll need some veteran guidance. But whoever that will be, we’ll find out who that will be in the days and weeks to come … but you definitely want to bolster that position. I look at point guard, when you talk about young players, especially young rookie guys coming in the league, it’s important to have a veteran alongside him to help in the mentorship alongside Jeff and his staff’s mentorship.”

Ball sure can pass and see the floor, can't he? I haven't seen a guy with eyes like that since, dare I say...
I look forward to how he plays in the NBA, I say most of his game is gonna translate.

I haven't gotten to see too much of him, his passing is from above, but is his defense so bad? That is a bit sad, was looking forward to him being a more complete player. He looked fairly athletic and long...

Ball is a great passer but his shot is garbage. He can reach Kidd levels with his passing. Worst case scenario he becomes Ricky Rubio.
