If Melo wants to leave then include at least 4-5 more teams on list.
If not, then he can go **** himself and stay with Knicks and opt out after the season.

I kinda just really want to spitefully bench Melo for the entire season at this point and let him opt out at the end.
Throw a couple of 0's into those career averages if this guy wants to be a stubborn butterball.

He had no problems when we traded away assets (not amazing assets, but assets) to get him in 2011 so he could get his money just prior to a potential work stoppage. He easily could have signed with us and allowed us to keep those guys, but he had to be 1000% sure of getting as much money as possible. And we gave him a NTC after that along with a max contract. If he doesn't want to be reincorporated, too bad, he is under contract with us. You never make a deal just to make one. If he so badly wants out, guess what, he can opt out in just 11 short months. 29m off the books. Better than getting trash for him. Expand your list of teams if you want out so badly. Melo cares about Melo.

Talk to Melo about expanding his wish list
Have him understand a buy out will not happen "No"
Go find a deal that works for the Knicks.
The impression I had was we had a deal in place already. A deal we were good with ?

“Houston is now prepared for the fact that these negotiations with the Knicks could run through August, September, into possibly the start of training camp as New York tries to rebuild Melo’s value.”

Not interested in staying with Knicks, apparently less interested in waiving NTC to go to a team willing to make a fair offer

Melo says he's not interested in playing for knicks now? lmao dude just wanted to outlast Phil. All that "I want to stay in New York" was utter Bullchit. I dont blame the guy but what a full 360 with what was being said lol.

I'm willing to drag this out if he think's he is forcing a buyout or forcing us to accept a BS trade. Hell no Me-lo you dont get to do that chit.

I'm totally fine with it if they bench him for the season and even next season if he wants to play hardball and opt in after being benched all season.

I don't think that a deal was ever in place, and it probably wasn't us that backed out. I'm willing to bet that it was team #3 or 4 that backed out. Somewhere along the line a team had to give up something and get Ryan Anderson in return, and Houston is probably holding things up by not sending a pick or two to unload Anderson.

I don't understand why Melo doesn't at least add Washington & Toronto to his list. I was hoping Durant would have gone to Washington - would of been an awesome team to watch. They can settle for Melo. I don't even want Otto on that contract though..

If he doesn't want to stay, then he needs to open up his list - because Houston can't offer us fair value unless Morey is willing to go to the mat.

As spiteful as i would like to be with Melo, we can't. If we are really about changing the culture and developing youth than we need to finish this up quick. No longer should we be associated with that type of nonsense, cut the tumor out don't let it fester.
