The Nets aren't swallowing contracts like Anderson's. Nor are the Nets giving up a guy like Anthony that the Rockets clearly value a lot.

I think you missed the point. That's our long term plan. It's hard to change overnight. 2-3 years from now, our roster will fully reflect the plan.

I really, really want to trade Melo for Cedi & a 1st. Not only cause I like Cedi but because I just want Morey and the Rockets to see their hard ball plans blow up in spectacular fashion right in their face.

Melo wants Houston because he knows there's a minimal chance the two parties can work a trade out. He's not going to open up for more teams because he ultimately wants the Knicks to buy out the contract. He's not going to be mature about this whole ordeal...

Would you take Melo for a 2021 swap and a 2022 unprotected if Anderson only had a one year deal?

If yes, then that is what this offer amounts to, we can easily ship out Anderson with the 2020 pick - we can probably even protect it

Andersons contract runs a full 2 seasons longer than Melos. We can start making tangible changes such sooner by keeping Melo in the short term. I def think we should move Melo but only if we get expirings.
