Melo at 2 years 54 million, with a much stronger chance of winning a championship for the next two years...
or
Anderson at 3 years 60 million with a couple of first rounders and no chance of winning a championship

Love is 28 and does not have a no trade clause. He has value and would be an asset. We can get the picks we seek with him.
Fry expires after this year and would surely be a great mentor to our youth.
If my calculations are correct which they very well might not be
Melo Outgoing with trade kicker 30,180.324
Love and Frye incoming 30,063.262
Carmelo is more on the level Lebron needs in clutch playoff moments. They could be incredible together.
Lebron may want to go all in and request this happens
Love has more value that Melo and could get more back. If they trade Love for Melo they would need more than just Melo back in a deal.

“Carmelo Anthony has made it clear to them, I want to go to Houston, I’m not interested in talking to you about being re-incorporated back into this New York roster,” Wojnarowski said.
“So what they’re trying to do… Steve Mills wouldn’t have ascended to this job in New York if he wasn’t politically savvy, he doesn’t want to get into a public war here with Carmelo Anthony, who they spent over a year trying to run out of town. Houston now is prepared that these talks could run through August, September, into the start of training camp.”

So you'd acquire someone to get the first round picks and then trade him using those first round picks (because that's what it will take, at the least)? Fantastic logic there. Wait...you want to get rid of Melo at all costs...I get it now. Also, if teams were lining up to take Anderson for 2 firsts (or if Houston was even offering 2 firsts to get rid of that horrid contract), a deal probably would have already been done.
why you mad though? its something i would do, im sure everyone on here has a different approach on it.Spoiler:
I'm not mad, though. I simply don't understand the thinking of anyone who agrees with my quote that you just posted aside from one filled with pure disdain. That's all.
Thanks for the link.

Why would you need to use those same picks to get rid of him? Would we be in a position where we absolutely NEED that cap space in a couple of years? How? Are we going to miraculously make a run at some top free agents by then?
According to EVERYONE in the front office, we are going with a youth movement. That usually doesn't involve using a bunch of cap space on free agents (Mills said the THJ situation was uncommon). We are going to focus on developing our guys from within (again, directly from Mills' mouth). We don't need cap space in the immediate future. I know it's good to have flexibility, but we don't live in an ideal world. Sometimes you have to make tough choices. Melo needs to get off this team.
If we can get 2 first round picks from the Rockets, we should do it, even if we have to take on Anderson. Those picks will be HUGE because Houston can't trade any picks until 2020 I believe, which is when all their guys will be old and they will be rebuilding.

Melo might have a NTC but Perry and Mills have a WDHTTY aka We don't have to trade you.

Anderson's contract is garbage. You can use cap space on young guys you want to see expand with in the core, as THJr. Anyways, it's not even about having maximum cap space to sign FAs - it's about having flexibility. Having the space to take on a Mozgov to get a guy like D Russ and things like that (what Philly did taking on bad deals to get picks). 2020 is 3 years away...Harden isn't going anywhere...the picks will be mid first round (15-20 range) at best, probably. I'm not taking on Anderson's contract unless we're getting compensation that justifies taking it on - meaning, more than just two picks. His deal is HORRIBLE AND we'd essentially be gifting them cap space, as I believe (currently, at least) that Paul and Melo end up leaving Houston at the end of the season.

So, Melo aside, you wouldn't take on Anderson for TWO 1st round picks right now?

It has nothing to do with Melo. That deal is horrible. We need more than just two low picks to take it on.
