If we're looking for pitching, why look to trade Teheran? Yes, he's having an off year, but he's still a quality pitcher in his prime years. At this point in the season, I'd be inclined to stick what we have.

Because we know what he is, at one time was thought to be an ace level pitcher. In reality he's a 2-3 in a rotation, that can never stay consistent, allows too many HRs(good to give up 20 per season). The Braves have been interested in Archer, Gray, Quintana since last winner. Archer and Gray are upgrades over Teheran and Quintana is about equal.

Thing is - who wouldn't be interested in pitchers like Quintana, Archer, and Gray? Just cuz you want them doesn't mean you're going to get them. Quintana cost a small fortune. The Braves aren't going to get a haul like that for Teheran when he's having an off year. And if he's the next best thing to those guys (which I think he is), ya keep him imo. Gray's only a very small upgrade - he's played his entire career in a pitchers' park, and he wasn't good last season.

Correct the Braves aren't going to get a Quintana deal, hell the White Sox shouldn't have got that much. Maybe the Braves want to move on from Julio, like me. Get something for him while he has value.

I've been saying this all season. Get rid of him, EOF and Sam Freeman. Our bullpen isn't very good, bring some guys like Minter up or acquire a reliever or two in trades.

They really have relied way too much on Kroll. It definitely hurt that Mauricio Cabrera hasn't been healthy or sharp enough this season. The organization has to do a better job of developing their arms.
