James was informed of Irving's request and was blindsided and disappointed, sources said.

If Lebron won't commit to staying with Cleveland beyond another season he should STFU.

This is doing the Cavs a favor if they get a different core player who fits better. He was the biggest issue with not getting over the hump potentially against Golden State because of his ball-hogging and lack of defense. This request speaks to his ego that prevented him from having a complementary role to LeBron on the court and playing hard all the time.

This is crazy. The Cavs will still be the favorites in the East without Kyrie but, seriously, what the hell is going on? Pretty much every guard in the league outside of Curry would die to be in Kyrie's position right now and he wants out because he wants to be "the guy"?

Yup crazy. Still... he can come be the guy in Milwaukee if he wants.

I don't think all that much of Kyrie. He is in an ideal situation for his skill set and all he can think about is how to get more shots up. He got 3 more FGAs than LeBron per 36 and now he wants to be... what? On Pho? Coupled with his near league worst defense and its hard to imagine him as a hugely impactful star. Not to say he isn't routinely majestic to watch. Just that he doesn't bring it except in high leverage games and his ego is not in line with his impact.

Not unless they get equal return or close to equal. No chance at being the favorites just with LeBron and Love. Kyrie won a lot of games for them.

Honestly, they should trade all 3. LeBron is going to LA next season... just blow it all up now this summer and get an unprecedented haul to rebuild with.

If Love doesn't have much value then trading Irving is the best chance the Cavs have for shaking it up in a way that makes them at least more competitive with Golden State.

That said, this could just preclude Lebron walking.

If he is for sure leaving King James might as well request a trade this offseason. Paul George had the decency to do that so the Pacers had a chance to at least get something in return.

Such an entertaining off season.

No, he can't. He should take a complementary role to Giannis and he sucks on d.

With what the other teams got for Butler, George, and CP3 I don't see them getting some star to match Irving's abilities.

Obviously we don't have much outside of Giannis to offer....but if I'm Horst I'm calling Cleveland just in case.

If Kyrie wants to be 'the guy' then he sure as hell ain't coming here.

If that's the real reason for leaving then I don't know why he'd want to go to San Antonio though lmao. That is some weird mix of teams.

Minnesota?

Does Kyrie just want to troll the Cavs for the Wiggins trade or something?

Seems like Thibs would want to kill him too.

Booker and Kyrie would be good...but not much of a force in the West. Like a Portland without Nurkic.

A Booker and Kyrie back court could be fun offensively but man it could be the worst defensive pairing in the league. Now maybe the talk themselves into Booker improving on that side of the ball because two of his biggest problems no D are making young player mistakes and taking plays off partly because he was asked to do everything on O. He has the size and lateral quickness to hold his own on D but just hasn't so far. The Suns hired James Jones to their front office earlier this week so they will have a very good idea on how Ivring would fit into that locker room and team. If they don't think he's the right guy to go after I would still keep an eye on them being involved as a third team with Bledsoe ending up in Cleveland.

He and Butler are like best friends. Wiggins back on the Cavs would be pretty funny though, especially with Love still there.

Also should Knicks fans be worried about trading Porzingis + Melo for Irving?

That'd be pretty hilarious.

Seems more realistic. Although I think it would be Love, Kyrie, for KP/Mello/cap filler
