Report: LeBron 'blindsided' by Irving's trade request

Post#501 » by fouronesix22 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 9:42 pm

It was a request that small forward LeBron James was reportedly "blindsided and disappointed" by, per Windhorst's sources. The report also mentions Irving "no longer wants to play alongside James."

I love it. The whole narrative that everyone wants to play with Lebron is bull. The cavs are a bigger mess than the knicks right now.

Yeah Knicks make too much sense but the idiots had to go and sign Hardaway to that insanely idiotic contract. He would be a good stop gap until Frank is ready (if he's ever ready that is). And apparently since everyone here thinks Kyrie can't win (pretty baseless) he helps the tank.

You're delusional. KAT makes Draymond completely irrelevant in a series. As good as Dray is defensively, he is 2 small for KAT. There is virtually nothing he can do on him.

Teague can't be traded until December.

Yes, because Gilbert and Kyrie had so much success together before LeBron returned to Cleveland. They were Spurs East, one of the league's model franchises. Damn that LeBron, screwing up such a track record of consistent winning!

What we're seeing now is that LeBron's return didn't turn Gilbert into a competent owner or Kyrie into a team-first player. They were just on their best behavior for a couple years and have reverted back to form at the first sign of adversity. That's not LeBron's fault.

Somehow you posted that without mentioning that KD ruined the NBA, except this time it WOULD apply because KD ruined the Cavs

Re: Is the alternative to trading Irving...

Post#507 » by Daddy 801 » Fri Jul 21, 2017 9:44 pm

I would trade LeBron. He would only waive his no trade clause for a team that could legitimately win a championship next year. Only a few teams I think could work.

Call up T Wolves and ask for Wiggens and other assets. Teague, Butler, LeBron, and Towns are legitimate championship level squad. I think the Wolves would take the risk of a one year rental.

OKC is another good destination but I have no idea the assets they could trade.

Boston is another destination. They have a ton of assets. If they were smart they would use IT as one of the pieces they trade. Boston is in the finals FOR SURE next year if they trade for LeBron.

Not many other teams I see LeBorn waiving his no trade clause for, have assets to trade, and have a legitimate shot at a championship next year.

Why on earth would Cleveland trade Kyrie to Minnesota without getting any one of those 3 guys back?

Just reading this now and no way for me to catchup to all the posts already lol.

But here's my take - so he's in a contract year and wants to be the top dog on his team to land the biggest contract possible in FA. Welcome to today's sports world. Nobody cares about winning anymore, it's all about the paycheck. Now I can't say that I blame the players for that; it's their choice. But all these comments people write about doing what's best for "winning"; you have to remember it's not always the player's top priority.

Kyrie's "preferred destinations" wont make a single difference. Clev would trade him for the best offer, whoever that may be.

That being said, the Spurs would be a lethal fit. I'd love to see that happen. Any 3-way trades possible that brings Irving to SA?

There's no such narrative. All people say is that LeBron is a great team player and leader, which he is.

Why do it if you are a CHA fan? Kyrie is marginally better then Kemba, and thats while playing with a superstar and another 2nd option type player. Would make sense for the Cavs, not sure I would add much more then Kemba and maybe a protected 1st from CHA.

Kyrie prolly sick of playing with Lebron cuz Lebron gets all the credit even when Kyrie balls out. It was the same situation with Kobe and Shaq. Except Kobe was good enough to win as the man, don't think Kyrie is. But then again i'm sure a bunch of people said that about Kobe as well and he proved them wrong. We'll see if Kyrie does the same.

Also it makes sense that Kyrie didn't put the Lakers as a preferred destination because he knows Lebron is going there lol.
