Kyrie's me first mentality I think is greatly being overblown here. He chose to play for K in college, he ask to be traded to Pop, Thibs or Riley/Spo. Does that sound like someone who only is focusing on me first? K is basically the college version of Pop (Army and Air Force guys), Thibs and Riley/Spo both run very tight ships as well. It appears Kyrie wants to be apart of a premier coaching system and not a system built around a player.
I also believe he wants out of Lebron's shadow. Again the system in Cleveland isnt really a system built from Lue, its a system that revolves around Lebron. Everything Cavs related revolves around Lebron. No matter what Kyrie does people still just say oh its because of Lebron. It wont be like that anywhere else, so when he says he wants to be the man, hes probably just saying he wants to go to a place where he wont be in the shadow of someone else no matter what he does.
Well thats funny because Kyries style is not at all any type of system friendly. Last time somebody tried to tell him to play in a system, it got
Byron Scott, Mike Brown and David Blatt fired when they tried to tell him to run the offense with passing more as the PG. When LeBron came and later Lue got the job, it was basically a freestyle iso heavy offense featured around Kyries scoring and not passing or setting up plays.
Are you just rewriting history or something? Byron Scott got fired because hes a horrible head coach. The Mike Brown 2nd time around was a joke from the start. And you really think Kyrie is the guy that got Blatt fired? Really it was Kyrie who did it, not the biggest star in the NBA constantly disrespecting and questioning Blatt publicly all season? And Cleveland's offense with Lue featured around Kyrie? Its like youre purposely avoiding the giant elephant in the room here.
You say he cant be a system friendly player, yet he chose to play for K and Duke where K is the definition of a system coach, he was the MVP of the FIBA world championships with guys like Curry, Harden, AD and Cousins on the team. He was the starter of the Olympic team this past Olympics.
