It's a mental thing, Conor is a savage on a normal day. In these situations though he's the guy with nothing to lose, everyone he goes up against essentially gets no praise for outboxing him (since they should) and risk humiliation if they get outboxed by him.

With the said Floyd isn't mentally weak, he's used to guys with nothing to lose. Still excited though

Also the fact that going with 8oz gloves is even a thing suggests to me that they're worried about PPV buys. Floyd has literally no reason to give Conor any leeway, the fact that he might probably means that they're worried about people not believing that the fight will be any good or that Conor has a real shot, the way that Pac man did.
