Nothing went wrong. Reality will simply catch up to perception.

The actual answer to this question is up in the air. Depends on who's here and how the team meshes. If fans are looking for Jesus in the form of KP they will be highly disappointed. He, like Melo can't turn water into wine. You need a team full of good players with a solid system, a few great players or a GOAT player to make the playoffs.

next year the 18-19 season. we have one of the worst starting point guards in the league again. actually sessions probably is the worst starting PG. if we get a legit starting PG in a melo trade and KP makes that superstar jump this year then its possible we can sneak in.

Too early to say with the Melo issue pending. If he is traded will the trade favor the Knicks as it should? If he stays is he a good soldier? The situation is just too blurry and convoluted, kind of like Melo's career.

19-20. KP probably becomes a beast yr 4, but the team still isn't good enough. Yr 5, we should hopefully have a team that he could at least drag to the 6 seed

With as bad as the East is, it could be sooner than we think. Here is to hoping we get a top 5 pick next year, and a top 10 the year after and make the playoffs from 2020 moving forward as a top 2 seed for years to come.

Knicks are going to get the 1st overall this year and MPJ is going to be the final piece. Nitlikina will be in year 2 , KP will be an allstar Willy will be a double double machine, THJ will be bombing 3s.

Ask again in 3 or 4 years. We're a long way away. And that's fine. I actually want us to take a few years to draft high in the lottery. I'm using the Noah contract as a time line. It's a great excuse to stink it up and stay away from any glamorous trades or signings. Take your time.

i put next year. with the cap bubble coming back down to earth, i think grabbing a FA won't be so far fetched. melo will hopefully be traded by then. realistically, i'd say 2020-2021 should be the first year. but i think a lot of east teams are going to be worse next year, making it easier to sneak into the PO.

i assume lebron will be leaving cleveland. and they'll lose kyrie in the process. with chicago disbanded, i don't see too many for sure PO teams in the east.
