People are bored - it's deep in the summer off season. Some people are craving excitement so much, they'd rather we make a bad trade for Melo than wait to do something good.

You know it never works out that way for us. He will win enough meaningless games at the end of the season to take us out of a top pick.

KP needs tought guys around him to get him fired up. That's what I like about this signing. He'll fit in well.

D. Mitchell/ J. Richardson/S. Merrill
Luka/Melo

Never thought of Beasley as a tough player.

I found Beasley's career very odd. He was sooooo hyped during the draft process you'd think he was a surefire all-star and instant 20/10 guy. I was literally shocked the first time I saw Beasley play. I was expecting a strong stretch PF type of guy with great athleticism, strength and scoring ability. Instead I saw an average SF with very mediocre overall ability. I remember literally thinking "were the scouts drunk"?

For all of his college career, scouts thought Beasley was ~ 6'11".

It wasn't until the combine that people realized that he was 6'7". That changed his trajectory alot. He went from a super agile PF with an almost 9ft standing reach to basically just a SF who is good at scoring. Mix in the mental issues he had earlier in his career, and you can see that he was never really going to be able to live up to the hype.

Oh yes now I remember---you are right. That's why I was expecting a big strong PF type of guy. Still , it is kinda crazy that the scouts were so mistaken. I was so baffled watching Beasley the first time play as he was your average sized NBA SF. LOL.

I predict a monster year for Beasely this year. Well I did predict some Joakim Noah defense and fortitude last year and that didn't go too well. Let's just say he will surprise the masses.

I think Beas could have a season like Derrick Williams did if we play him consistently.

Points need to come from somewhere if we move Melo.
