The network decided to poke fun of the team on Tuesday. Jeremy Lin’s quote about the team making the playoffs was plastered across the screen. It was followed by ridicule.

The show’s panelists said that “everyone makes the playoffs in August.” Clips of on-court blunders from last season’s team were shown.

The show took it a step further. A graphic was shown putting the Nets’ trio of D’Angelo Russell, Lin and Timofey Mozgov against Kenyon Martin, Al Harrington and Rashad McCants. Host Michelle Beadle said the Nets weren’t even good enough to beat the trio, known as Trilogy, from the Big3 league.

The other panelists at least realized how disrespectful the statement is.

Typical media nonsense, of course they're going to dump on us. She probably can't name more than 5 people on the team like most talking heads.

Nets will have to win games to make stuff like that look stupid. Can't get mad when you have to go out and take action.

Just be happy we traded 27 and not 22. Not including a first would've been a deal breaker for LA even if Lopez was a slightly better player.

And honestly, his trade value did raise last year. Remember the closest we ever came to trading him? We would've got back Reggie Jackson, a 24 year old head case who we would've signed immediately to a max contract to a 21 year old player with star potential and 2 years left on his rookie deal.

I think we got more value for Lopez than we should have tbh. That deal is going to look crazy if the Lakers can't bring in Lebron and someone else next summer.

Lopez wasnt even aquired for his talent... they view him as an expiring. his value in todays game is minimal.

if we want him back we can just sign him in the offseason, there wont be much interest

Kind of surprised by so many penciling Carroll at starting PF...That says a lot about the confident some have in starting RHJ there.
There's definitely some positive in starting Carrol there since there are both the same size but Carroll can stretch the floor while RHJ can't.

Man, if we do start that lineup, it'd be Lin + four new starters, a whole new team!

That's surely gonna take some time to gel.

Are they gonna sign another big? you still got a roster spot right? and some capspace

Cunningham, David Lee, Lavoy Allen, Zeller, Bogut, Diaw, Sullinger or Splitter are still out there.

Chris Singleton of the guys playing in Europe is probably an option too.

I suspect the Marksman wants a piece of the RFA market again when they become desperate enough. Maybe he'll try to poach Noel? (probably not cuz of Jar)

Green, Mirotic, Plumlee are unsigned.

After they are gone he'll look at the FAs.

You dont have enough capspace to make a competitive offer for those guys, they will take the QO before

Or they could use booker in a S+T. Not rocket science.

I think the roster is set. No need to use our cap space right now... save it for next summer where we will have enough for 1 max contract. Cap space is a great asset with the amount of bad contracts around the league.
If we can move Booker and Lin even more room.

2017-2018 BK Nets
Lin-Dinwiddie-Yakuba
Russell-Whitehead-SK
Levert-Crabbe-Harris
RHJ-Carroll-Acy-Wiley
Mozgov-Booker-Allen

RHJ/Carroll and Levert/Crabbe are interchangeable as starters.

Booker played Center last year when we closed the season strong so I think he can do a solid job there if the coach needs it.

To close the season strong last year we used:
Starters: Lin-Foye-Levert-RHJ-Lopez
Bench: Dinwiddie-IW-KJ/Harris-Acy-Booker

The main loss is Lopez but overall Marks has added real NBA players/talents compared to last year's team which had a bunch of inexperienced and D-League talent to start out.

I think if everything works out perfectly a playoffs seed is possible but unlikely. I expect 31-35 wins and the young guys to continue to improve. Next year if we can add 1 more key piece or a few more good/solid pieces then playoffs is more than doable.

Book is better than everyone out there besides Green, Plumlee and Noel.

I only envision us going after Green, really. Plumlee is a maybe but I think they're definitely passing on Noel.

I'd rather just keep Booker.

They also haven't renounced the rights to Randy Foye so they can use him in a sign and trade for $3 million.

Also Brooklyn has $5 million(?) in cap space with 2(?) roster spots left according to Netsdaily.

Do you guys think Trevor Booker would be better starting, to add some rebounding to that 3 guard lineup it looks like the Nets will be starting? Starting Carroll would give you a bunch of 3 point shooting in the starting lineup, but no size or Rebounding.
