Sorry to burst your bubble fellas, but this team is going to stink this year. I know preseason isn't an indicator, but the replacement players on offense have not looked good, the $25MM QB has looked very average, if not below average, and the defense has been meh at best. No positives have come out of this preseason. That's just my opinion...maybe they'll surprise me and actually win more than 8 games but I think it's highly unlikely. Gruden is simply not a good NFL coach.

I agree. I'm thinking 7-9 is about right give or take a game.

Personally, I think when it's all said and done the new receivers will be fine. I just think it will take some time to get on the same page.

I expect the team to have a rough start and come on in the latter half of the season.

7-9 or 8-8 seems about right to me.

I say 4-12, everybody except Bruce gets fired in the offseason, and the nightmare continues. :nonono:

It's mildly amusing, I always look forward to football season because by the time Slurs postseason run inevitably comes to a halt Basketball is right around the corner.

Washington sucks, and Cousins is a turkey. The Slurs really dodged a bullet giving him a deal there.

I don't see how Washington is going to manage to win more than 4 games.

Bad call at the end, but the Skins deserved to lose. Awful performance by Cousins, and if anyone thinks he's a good red zone QB, I've got some Florida beachfront property to seel ya. Pathetic.

I just love it when we play mistake free football.

And that Gruden TO with a minute left in the first half? WTF?

It made sense. Philly had the ball, but it was 3rd and long. Skins defense then f'd up. And supposedly the wing was blowing in the Skins favor, but Philly still got a 50 yard FG.

I missed all the preseason games but the last one because I was stuck in South Carolina. This was my first look at the starters since last season. Based on this game, the defense has improved. Brown, Smith, Fuller, Breeland, D line looked good. I think third and long defense will improve as our pass rush gets better and I think it will if Galette can show some of his old form. Safety is a concern, Swearinger is already having back spasms and I don't expect Cravens back this year.

Offense needs improvement, a healthy Reed, Crowder & Doctson will help. I think Long & Moses were playing hurt too. Pryor worries me, he needs to focus better when he's wide open. It felt like he catches better when he knows he's going to be hit. Cousins has to protect the ball in the red zone better. Field goal instead of a turn over gives them the lead.

Special teams needs to get Crowder on the practice field catching punts or replace him until he's health. Breeland need some awareness of where he is in the end zone when he fields the kickoff or else Thompson has to give a stronger stop and kneel sign lol.

Just don't turn it over and I think we could have won. Big if, I know lol.

Next week the Rams. They harassed Russel yesterday. Skins will need to get healthy on the Oline or play Nsekhe & Roullier more because the running game needs to show up to set up the pass. Let Perine pound a few early in the game to soften up the defense and get him warmed up for the red zone. Give Thompson some carries too and not just on 3rd down. If Reed can't play use Dean & Paul and bring Sprinkle off the inactive list.

Still a homer, GO SKIN!!

The argument that Cousins is an above average starting QB is based singularly on his box score stats. He threw for 5k yards so he's obviously super good.

Cousins is not an above average starting QB. He's Andy Dalton tier. He's competent with a good supporting cast and that's about it.

And you don't give someone $60 mil guaranteed if your QB is Andy Dalton. That's something that a lot of us have figured out but for whatever reason the local sports media, specifically Grant and Danny are trying to cling to this notion that Cousins is a franchise QB.

I think it's mostly Grant. Dude is totally irrational about Cousins
