Not sure if Young is really a 3. He only played 9% of his career mins there, and most of it in his first three seasons. He doesn't shoot many threes. Ideal imo would be to sign another 3 and start him. That would make your bench really strong.
At this point in his career I'd say he's really more a 4. Honestly hes always been more of a 4. He doesn't have the perimeter or ball skills to be a 3 and is more effective around the basket where he can use his strength/toughness/athleticism to his advantage.
doesnt need to be.
Love is the shooter and scorer.
Thad is a slasher. He can hit an open 3, he just doesnt shoot many, but you gotta respect it. He Did make 38% last season taking almost 2 a game. I dont need him to be that. I have Love/Barton/Schroder who are good ball shooters/passers/scorers and Barton Schroder both can handle the ball and create offense. The ball movement is going to be great on this team.
I dont need Young to do anything on offense but space the floor which he will, and slash/runt he floor. Most Nba players can hit an open 3 pointer, even average to below average shooters. Still have to respect even an average to below average shooter.
What i need Young for is his defense. One of the premier offensive positions in the sport is SF. Lebron/Kawhi/Durant/Gay/Butler/Melo/Giannis/Hayward .. etc. I need a guy who i can throw on those dudes. Thad is a very good defender, good athlete and creates turnovers. My team is going to be in transition alot. He can run the floor and finish. Love spaces the floor better then most guards and Barton is good 3pt shooter. Schroder was solid from 3 and may take another step this season which many expect him to do.
I have Gay who can do the traditional scoring stuff from SF. And Young will get minutes at PF as well. But he will start so i can sick him on some of the top dogs Like Lebron, Durant , Kawhi, Gay etc.
