Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Sep 13, 2017 9:59 pm

Josh Richardson and the Miami Heat are finalizing a four-year, $42 million contract extension.

Richardson was a second round pick out of Tennessee in 2015.

Richardson averaged 10.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season.

A bargain. The heat making smart moves locking up talent young players. Thought he was gonna cost $70 plus millions next season

Are you sure?

He averaged only 6.6 ppg 37FG% in the playoffs
39FG% in the regular season

That's about the right price range for him. He's a capable defender and cant hit shots. He'll take it to the rim a couple times here and there, but he can play and D up the 1-3 positions. So in this day that's a good price for both sides.

On the one hand, sounds like a bargain in today's NBA...

On the other hand, when you consider that hes making more than D-Rose and Isaiah Thomas this year,
makes you realize how unpredictable the NBA is

what? this is no where close to the same situation lol. Derrick rose is 28, hampered by injury and joined the cavs for a chance to win. He gave up a little more money then he maybe could have made. But no team would invest 10 mil plus for a player who cant survive a full season knowing the injury Rose had. Isiah Thomas has not had a chance to re sign under the new cba and the nba's new money .

Huh? His deal is 4/42.

I don't really have a problem with his deal.

The post I was responding to thought it was a bargain and expected it to be 70+ mil, that's a bit much I thought

What I meant was he would have gotten around $70 in the open market next year. Look at beyombo, Crabbe, Otto potter and so on. The heat will pay him $1.5 this year then the 4/42 so we getting rich for 5 years at $43.5 m . His last year a player option he will decline of course but still a bargain. He started the season slow because he had knee soreness for a game in preseason and missed start of the season as well as wrist injury. After he was fully healthy he was averaging 15 points 2 blocks 2 steals 5 assist 4 rebounds something like that and his effort have never been in doubt. Heat got a steal

Those three guys are lucky cuz of the cap spike, Billy King and Rob Hennigan

Look at defenders like Noel, KCP, Green.

OTOH, if he could sustain the level of play of those last few games, sure.
