Where would you rank the Spurs after the OKC deal? I personally am not too high with the Spurs now that Okc and Rox did big upgrades.

Why would he care? One is all you need. It punches your ticket to the Hall of Fame and gets you a 200 million dollar super-max offer. He's already won at life.

I don't know Russell Westbrook personally, but he doesn't strike me as a person that is easily content. All of those things are great, but I feel he strives to be the greatest.

You can strive for greatness without worrying about getting voted MVP.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

But don't get me wrong, they will be an offensive juggernaut. Carmelo will be in his natural position of PF in OKC. With Adams at C, George at SF, and Westbrook at PG, there aren't many teams that will be able to keep up with them. Defensively, however, they will probably suck.

Melo could have a heart attack chasing Simmons around!

Roberson probably defends Simmons and Anthony can be hidden with Covington on the court.

I'm actually quite impressed, Anthony in a reduced role as P&P, attacking off the catch type of guy is insanely dangerous. Acquiring him and George for Oladipo, Sabonis, Payne, McDermott, Kanter and a second rounder is a no-brainer even if they lose all three next summer.

Fultz...................Westbrook
Redick................Roberson
Covington..........PG
Simmons...........Carmello
Embiid................Adams

It should be interesting for both teams. I thought they could of used a more defensive PF, but their offense should be very good.

Real life isn't a video game where every match up is determined by the starting lineups. They won't use excellent on-ball defenders like Paul George or Andre Roberson on Robert Covington who can't handle the ball anyway.

Simmons is too quick for typical PF's like Patrick Patterson and even Carmelo Anthony, so he'll probably face wing defenders most of the season.

They matchup ok, except for Embiid.

PG gets Fultz
Westbrook gets Redick/TLC
Carmello gets Covington/Saric
Roberson/PG gets Simmons
Adams gets Embiid/Okafor (our best advantage, Adams in foul trouble early)

Paul George quote from today.

“Winning takes precedence over all of it. That's the ultimate happiness. It's not location. It's not stardom. It's not 'where can I make the most money.' It's winning, and winning championships.

“That's ultimately what, as a kid, I looked at as the best fit and the biggest thing. I haven't won on any level, besides the (2016) Olympics (in Rio). I haven't won a championship in high school. I haven't won a championship in college (at Fresno State). I don't know what that feels like.”

That's what PG said. What PG really means is he is going to do his best this year in OKC and next year he's bolting to play with Lonzo and the Lakers lol.

Noel is going to be pissed if this is true. Noel is going to leave Dallas.

Mavs is smart and is using the Dirk starting at 5 excuse. But for me it's not who starts or not, it's how much they're gonna let you play. Currently, if Dirk is at 5 then they have like 3 rotational Cs counting mejri

I believe Celts did the deal more in preparation of a post Cavs era. The move was to give them a better chance later while taking a step back for now. But even with a declining LBJ, Love, Crowder and that pick makes them at par, at the very least against the Celts 2-3 seasons from now.

And what makes the trio of Hayward, Kyrie and Horford better than Wall, Beal and Porter? I find both are at par now and in the future in terms of talent level.

If everything goes to plan, Sixers might even emerge as the new beast in the east.

The Cavs will struggle mightily in the regular season this year imo. Derrick Rose is a decent bench player at this point and a horrible fit with LeBron James, Kyle Korver showed he's starting to age in the finals, Dwayne Wade is a poor floor spacer for James and I won't even discuss additions like Jose Calderon and Jeff Green.

They had a horrible offseason apart from the trade and Wade falling into their lapse for the veteran minimum.

Lue has to be creative this regular season and play with Love at C, play Cedi Osman heavy minutes and perhaps some rotations without a true PG.

Is Celtics Kyrie -Hayward-Horford trio that much better than Wall, Beal and Porter?

I would say that it is comparable, but Boston has other assets that the Wizards don't, and it isn't just about this year. I don't think that Boston is a real contender yet, and think that there is only one contender in the east, which is Cleveland.

Lonzo plays tomorrow. We will see if he can continue to play at a high level. I have a feeling he will make the Lakers a lot more formidable this season. I would not be surprised if he led the Lakers to over 35 wins.

Lonzo should be exciting in transition.

Lonzo
KCP
Ingram
Randle
Lopez

Lopez could be the key. If he stays healthy, they should have a balanced team. Ingram could have a breakout year.

It seems there are 3 or 4 teams that could be really bad.
The Lakers pick could be between 8 and 12, which makes the Fultz trade look a little better.

This comes as a complete shock to me and probably most of the board that you think Lonzo will play well this season.

I don't get how Shawn Long isn't on a roster. He was very effective last year.

Maybe we're keeping him away right now for Ben Simmons's sake.

Didn't that happen on the Friday of training camp? Well we made it at least one day further than last year.
