Ehh he's not really to blame though.

But he's not the solution. You can't invest $20m in a qb that can't carry you. There's other positions to pay. Giants need a low cost qb that's good, like the way Seattle was with Russell Wilson.

Hard for a QB to carry with no line or RB.

Giants failed to address those problems in the offseason and added Marshal who's not a necessity over those other two needs.

So we're gonna do the same for Eli that we did for Melo, huh? Oh well at least he has a ring.

Most teams in the NFL have terrible olines, and no run game. That's the NFL these days. You need a qb that can work around that, move, and get rid of the ball. Eli can't do those things.

The Giants problems are not fixable inside Eli's window. It's time to move on.

Most teams have terrible olines and no run game? No mat of the bad teams do....DAL,WAS,PHI,CAR,ATL,TB,LAR,SEA,AZ,BUFF,PITT,JAX,HOU,KC,DEN,OAK all have solid olines or run games and thats off the top of my head

what did you want them to do? go 0-16? that was nevev gonna happen, they still wont win any more than 5 games....might not get 2 or 3rd pick but they can still be in the top 5, develop their young guys and if they see their guy, trade up to get him in the draft.

Yeah trade picks for a better pick you could have had. Brilliant!

The jets were never going to be the worst record in the NFL..the defense was always going to keep the team in the games for the most part. It's amazing that Morton is getting the production of offense he is out of this group..crazy to see a Jets tight end spot be useful in the passing game.

Jets will also have insane cap flexibility with lots of solid young guys.

they should and get a Manning successor. any franchise type qbs projected next year.

we also need to get rid of Reese, his 1st round drafting is suspect at best. flowers, apples etc could have been picked much later and have hurt the franchise.

Giants will finish 5-11, Jets will go 4-12. What a season lol. Expected Giants to make the playoffs and Jets to get 1st or 2 ov pick. Fail

Giants should seriously consider giving Geno a shot if they drop to like 1-6 or like 2-7. He's a little more mobile than Eli and I think there is starter level NFL talent there to be found.

Jets are playing better than anyone could have expected, especially offensively, and honestly fuq getting a top pick just to take a QB. If the young guns are going to play this hungry and well then just let it ride and enjoy it. We can always move up to take a qb or try and develop a Lamar Jackson type. We also have tons of cap space next year to either fill out the roster or throw at Cousins or Alex Smith. Ealy has been great on the line, our secondary is above average (Jamal Adams is going to be a top 3 safety in 2 years) and after struggling the first few weeks Demario Davis has been a thumper and leader of that linebacker corps.

Offensively we've been surprisingly adequate. McCown is everything Fitz was without the boneheaded throws and dumb over confidence in his noodle arm. Trade Forte for something by the deadline to a rb needy team and keep rolling. People are down on our receiving corps too, but Kearse has shown an ability to get open and Anderson keeps making plays while ASJ is a legitimate threat not to mention our O-Line has held up pretty well.

I'm high on this Jets squad and think we can be real contenders with the right moves in 2-3 years.

you expect giants to go

5-7 against

SD.....@DEN......SEA.....LAR.....@SF......KC......@WAS.....@OAK....DAL......PHI.....@AZ.....WAS

i can see W's VS only SD(possibly)...LAR(possibly but LAR Offense is legit)....@SF....this team can likely start 07 or 0-8 but then instead of tanking to get eli's replacement win 3-4 to drop themselves a few spots

Jets probably go:
@CLE- W......NE-L....@MIA-W.....ATL-L.....BUFF-L......@TB-L....CAR-L......KC-L....@DEN-L.....@NO-L.....SD-W....@NE-L

and bring them to 5-11 but hopefully they lose to SD and finish 4-12 and get a top 4 pick....need one of Darnold,Rosen,Jackson,Rudolph.....these 4 will most def go in the top 15 so jets should get their franchise QB especially since i see Connor Williams,Saquon Barkley,Orlando Brown, James Washington,Minkah Fitzpatrick,Derwin James goign top 10....this is a deep draft and the jets have to hit on the QB.....the 2 Safeties are set, they got 2 studs on the Dline, Claibourne is a player as is Lee so the D has some talent, just need that damn QB......the AFCE is their for the taking because the end of brady is near

Atrocious O-line, no running game that shockingly, no one in the front office really addressed. Somewhere Tom Coughlin is chuckling.

A lot of rumors Darnold isn't coming out. It's a dumb decision IMO but nothing we can control.... Not enthralled with tanking in the NFL anyway. If the young guys are good and win 6-9 games this year then screw it trust your scouting department to find you a QB outside of the top 2 and keep building on the core they have now.

Pats are seriously flawed this year. They are atrocious on defense. Gilmore has been bad as a cb2. Their most reliable secondary guy in McCourty has been bad. Their linebackers and DLine are even worse than last year's version that got throttled by ATL in the 1st 3 quarters of that super bowl. If you have a pass catching RB you can just feed him all game long and watch the points pile up. They are right now the AFC's version of the Saints. I think Bill finally out thought himself with the Jamie Collins and Chandler Jones trades.

yeah the D is god awful...week 5 showdown  will probably be for 1st place in the division....u cant undermine how much a YOUNG united team and a good lockerroom with avg talent is >>>>>>>> above avg talent with older players stuck in their ways and a discombubulated locker room. Yep I'll kill Bowles from time to time for his ultra conservative game management and his overall lack of ability to adjust (ie the Fitz situation last year) but it seems like his players are united with him and will play hard. The way they've played after the Raiders blow out proves it. Yes you're right the next 2 drafts are very important. Gotta keep finding late round gems like Elijah McGuire. That's hwo good teams become super bowl contenders and average teams become good.

I tell you I like darnold but if u told me we go 2-14 and get darnold or go 8-8 show some young guys developing and get one of the other qb around picks 8-10 I'd take the second option. It doesn't just end with the QB, you need an oline, targets and a D....the D I think is heading in the rite direction and I like what I'm seeing from the play calling on offense...we might be best going the cowboys route, build an insane Oline and then getting that qb. Games are won in the trenches.....here's to competitive football in 2017!

Yep exactly. It's not all about the QB. Look at Drew Brees the past few years. Andrew Luck's time in Indy has been tumultuous. The QB can only do so much when the pieces around him aren't up to par. You get those pieces right and then you can win with even an average to slightly above average QB with them. Examples being Flacco, Eli, Kaep, and countless others who have made it to or won the super bowl while not being top 10
