I mean that wasn't any kind of exact figure. There are a ton of gang members in most pro sports, including overseas in a lot of futbol leagues.

I understand why you are shocked being an older guy on here, but it's honestly a bit odd even for me. Last year I befriended an author at Penguin who is a blood. Yoy would never guess and he's never dealt drugs or killed anyone. Its basically a networking system/boys club for him that his brother brought him into at a young age. He was around guts like that at time growing up but as an honor's student they always kept him out of the street level ****.

Various gangs have tons of chapters everywhere and they are all different in their approach.

MS13 was started by some dumb stoners who liked metal music and was swiftly taken over and transformed into one of the most vile and dangerous gangs in the world. **** means nothing.

Your call (I don't care about gang stuff with any player personally), but I honestly don't think he's a good enough basketball player to lose any sleep over regardless.

BTW hopefully this will put in perspective people criticizing Kyrie or Jalyen for sounding too "pretentious" or whatever. We can debate whether this stuff with Rozier means anything. If I have to endure one more commentator remark about how he took grad courses as a Freshman !!! Ugggh !!!!
There is nothing appropriate sbout a kid fresh out of HS taking Grad courses at a prestigious place like Berkely !

Do you really mean half the league, or do you rather mean half of the obvious demographic?

For example, on the Celtics:
-- Horford has a successful hoopster father and was born in a foreign country.
-- Baynes is from far away.
-- Theis is from far away.
-- Nader is an Arab immigrant who grew up in a very Jewish town.
-- Semi is a black guy who grew up in a small town that is 91% white.
-- Hayward seems like a squeaky-clean type.

That's 40% of the team right there. Some of the others seem to have non-stereotypical backgrounds too:

-- Kyrie was also born in a foreign country to a pro-hoopster dad. He got his first scholarship offer in 5th grade, and did the AAU/prep school/whatever fast track thing. His mother died when he was young; he was raised by his father and aunts.
-- Jaylen's father is an active pro boxer who says he came out of retirement (and won some version of the heavyweight world championship) to "motivate" his athlete sons.

Danny has clearly taken a shine to him and my guess has helped to get and keep him on the right path. The dude has worked very hard to make the most of his talent and Danny wouldn't have taken to him if he didn't see a good guy there.
